To be honest, you may want to take a trip up to Richmond, actually an awesome, historical market town dominated, as I was saying, by Richmond Castle, for instance. Next thing, why not take a bit of time to visit this Norman fortress, obviously, it has commanding views of the area and, to be honest, you can see more or less all that the town has to offer from up there. Naturally, there are cobbled marketplaces, very similar to other olden market places, for example, where you might potter and find some quirky stuff for gifts. I mean, there are some tea rooms, as I was saying, so stop and get a brew, in other words.

So then it is the natural beauty of Swaledale, anyway, just a little like an undiscovered movie scene, and, naturally, known for its dry stone walls and seriously pretty wildflower meadows, basically. It can be perfect for the person looking for scenic drives and quiet walks, for instance. Extremely good during springtime, alright, maybe if you happen to want to experience the meadows when they, arguably, are awash with blooms of all colours, almost, maybe, as tourists may.

Askrigg & Wensleydale: James Herriot Country

More or less, Askrigg is where the popular TV series All Creatures Great and Small, based on James Herriot’s books, you know, was filmed, and so it does have something for avid television fans to discover, like your parents might, alright?
