First off, you have got to start with the Motueka Museum; really, this place is like stepping straight into a time machine. You know, it’s almost as if the museum is so rich with items and stories that you can pretty much piece together how Motueka went from being a simple Maori settlement to the actually lively community it appears to be these days. As I was saying, they have so many displays. Displays of old tools that early settlers definitely depended on, displays of photographs capturing moments in time that really changed things for the town, plus so many things that have to do with the maritime history. The whole collection kind of brings Motueka’s backstory to life. We just have to give them the benefit of doubt that they really give great value.
And by the way, is that it is not just about objects behind glass either. In some respects, the museum really tries its best to get you involved with, say, some fun interactive exhibits. Maybe, too, you can see an old-time classroom setup or get a feel for what living back when things were, arguably, much simpler. So, really, you shouldn’t pass on paying a visit. Is that the Art Motueka folks do change up the displays fairly regularly. To be honest, this way, you can make repeat visits and, still, probably see something different and find something new. But by the way, the real kicker must be that this Bijoux, too, doesn’t stop there; it even plays host for performing arts. From stage shows from those local groups doing a bang-up effort at making some good community plays happen to, I dunno, some music shows featuring New Zealand musicians, or just, probably, from some guy halfway across the world coming down with, apparently, a cool art show that the theatre actually is trying out at that time. So, yes, actually, here, you probably will see folks presenting artwork. Actually, very unique; that could be from crafted jewelry using all sort of New Zealand stones that were kinda discovered by that crafter, I dunno, months, weeks, ago; but they want, actually, to give to someone.
