This includes times when public transportation is not available late at night or if you’re needing to get someplace, that you’re short on time for.

My Experience: There was a night I had to go back to my hotel from a party closer to midnight, just so it happened that the trams have been done running for the day. I actually booked Taxi Graz by app, it showed up quick, then the driver, being pleasant, had me at my hotel very swiftly. Very comfortable!

Having your very own car can do amazing things to the way you plan, and the way you experience. What I mean by this is that, Graz provides you with a decent spread of rental services such as, Mietwagen, and you get the option to check out big-name international vendors along with local vendors. Having a car available enables one to conveniently do day trips to nearby places, as well as exploring the Styria region with ease. Also that renting is quite flexible, so you will find alternatives no matter how short your day will be.

I had a week once where I used a Mietwagen for a more immersive adventure exploring all parts of Styria. You can drive along scenic vineyards as well as get a taste of the marvelous Austrian countryside at your very personal pace. Plus the advantage? Here’s what happened when I biked! Just riding near Mur River on one of Graz’s sharing bicycles offered a really delightful method of viewing parts that cannot be found otherwise from just public transport or a taxi. Plus I managed to experience those cool breezes!.

5. ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways): Trains In and Around Graz

That’s if you are trying to do a trip from Graz into other regions and countries, you are more than welcome to use the services from ÖBB – Austrian Federal Railways! Graz has a central station which lets people do trips that link to cities such as Vienna and Salzburg! Also intercity trains offer amazing convenience, making it convenient for you when ever you want to do trips that don’t include just driving, more than convenient eh?!

Taking an ÖBB train from Graz down to Vienna enabled me to avoid the stressful elements of a multiple hour car drive. There even exists cozy chairs, not only that, food could be bought when traveling – all which enabled an effortless day traveling!
