But, it turns out, this town is not just a chill spot, it is almost, like, a super springboard for discovering some awesome parts of Albania. Just picture setting off on quick adventures, each filled with history, culture, and loads of amazing scenery. Get ready, it’s very time to check out five must-do day trips that begin in Pogradec, and that’ll give you those vacation stories you just cannot wait to tell.

1. Drilon National Park: A Pocket of Paradise

Okay, first up, there’s Drilon National Park, which is found really, really close to Pogradec – we’re talking a quick hop away. This park is like stepping into some living painting, yet, with crystal springs, super green plants, and quiet spots perfect for just zoning out. So, you’ve got your passport with you? Great, so ’cause the old city of Ohrid which is in North Macedonia is rather a stunner, plus is easily doable on one day trip from Pogradec. The drive there from Pogradec tends to be very short, and it brings a person, as a matter of fact, to one traditional Albanian village just brimming with charm and views, in fact, that seem unreal. Explore the ruins of the Early Christian Basilica, which houses remarkable mosaics. 4. Korça: A Cultural and Historical Hub

Okay, so ready for much longer of a day out? Then head towards Korça. It usually sits southeast of Pogradec. It turns out to be a city just pulsing, probably, with culture, history, and quite a bit of local vibes. Dubbed, apparently, “Little Paris” in the olden days, so Korça has an, well almost, a elegant combo of Albanian and European impacts, that might be seen throughout its architecture, plus in its laid-back pavement cafe lifestyle, basically.

5. Voskopoja: Exploring Albania’s Lost Glory

Then, do you fancy seeing some really off-the-beaten-path kind of things? Head towards Voskopoja, arguably. It tends to be this mountain village not far from Korça, and used to be this cultural and trading mecca in the 17th and 18th centuries.
