4. Wadi Shab Adventure
If you’re one for water activities and outdoor adventures, then think about making a trip to Wadi Shab! What does it look like to hike through the wadi, swim through crystal clear pools, and get to a hidden cave with a waterfall? Probably this might be what you’ve always dreamed about.
First, that you must get to the entrance, which involves a short boat ride across a river, anyway. Once across, usually, that you’ll hike, roughly, 45 minutes through rocky terrain, with beautiful views of the canyon around. So, it’s important to wear the correct footwear! (Like your hiking shoes, not your flip-flops.) Eventually, that you’ll reach the first pool. Are you ready for a swim? The water can be cool but super rewarding.
As you move higher up, a bit, that the pools become closer together and the hiking becomes, basically, a swim. This section isn’t as much about hiking, as it is about swimming. Swimming! The last pool takes you, slowly, into a small cave with a waterfall.
The real deal: Wadi Shab really brings together physical activity, natural beauty, and a bit of a mystery all in one experience. It feels rewarding to swim through those gorges to reach the cave, in other words, making the adventure worth it!

5. Salalah and Dhofar Region Tour
This journey is for those keen on escaping city environments, maybe? So, head out to a somewhat subtropical part of Oman during the Khareef (monsoon) season (from June to September). Here’s a really refreshing break from the more typical desert landscape. A Tour in Salalah and the Dhofar region is a really rich combination of greenery, beaches, and Omani culture. Typically a treat for any traveler looking to experience the more green side of Oman.
