It’s almost like a must-do for anyone exploring what Lower Manhattan’s got going on. There’s loads of options to check out, from fast walking tours to really laid-back boat rides that give you great snapshots of the skyline.

1. Wall Street Insider Tour

Wall Street Tour

If you are looking to learn how Wall Street really ticks, then this might be right up your alley. So, it gives a pretty comprehensive peek behind the curtain of what usually goes on. The tour has guides who use to work in the financial game, sharing stories that you may never see elsewhere. The pace? Expect a fairly brisk walk as you try to keep pace with the guides, and it also packs a ton of details covering the big financial events that have changed Wall Street.

Is that tour engaging? It’s almost very for those keen on what the actual story is around the financial industry. A nice little perk? Many reviewers thought so. Is that your thing? Anyway, just see for yourself.

2. Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Ferry

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Ferry

Mixing history with stunning views, it’s almost a trip to Lady Liberty and Ellis Island makes for a special day out from the Financial District. Now, hop on a ferry to get out on the water, and so you’ll have the chance to get fairly close to one of freedom’s big symbols and walk on the grounds of what was once a gateway for many immigrants to the US.

The ferry bit, I feel it really does make it more relaxing and that memorable and more than only shuffling down the city sidewalks. Remember those amazing snapshots you are trying to grab. That’s likely why people come here to take one.

3. 9/11 Memorial & Museum

9/11 Memorial & Museum

A visit here is very meaningful and a deeply emotional time to spend in the Financial District. The memorial presents what happened on that tragic day, offering a very calm space for memory and so some thought. Right near is the museum, that has tons of personal stories and some real things that really capture the magnitude of the situation.

I can say that it will make for a day you wont likely forget, that gives respect where due, in a way, as well as insight on a pivotal moment in US history.

4. One World Observatory

One World Observatory

Standing high above the Financial District is the One World Observatory and just visiting for some crazy views might be in order. A smooth elevator trip brings you way up to pretty high floors very fast, and so from there, it’s almost all sprawling views as far as you can see. It isn’t just about how far you can see either, its how clearly. So you get those snapshots of the city life and a very deeper sense of how it actually fits to the region.

Is that something you should go check out? Absolutely, if you want some serious, sky-high moments.

5. NYC Financial District Happy Hour Cruise

NYC Financial District Happy Hour Cruise

So you want to chill after clocking out for the day? The Financial District Happy Hour Cruise gives some laid-back vibes cruising along the water just as the sun sinks below the buildings. I think there’s some cool breezes, plus what they call a “cash bar”, that is kind of calling out for an unwinding after the work day.

I think it also combines some socializing and the skyline scenery from what many say are fantastic angles. Is that something to think about doing sometime? Perhaps it would be cool for your Friday?
