Budva, with its ancient streets and breathtaking coast, is really a location just begging to be seen. Figuring out the way to get around there, I mean, is maybe the starting point of any visit. You want something easy, sure, maybe reasonably priced, and maybe even memorable, and so getting that sorted actually lets you chill and just enjoy all Budva offers.

Getting a taxi is, just, how people get about in Budva for like little trips all around the city and places nearby, right? They’re pretty easy to find, almost. You will spot taxi stands close to the main spots like, so, the Old Town entrance or by hotels. And the cool bit? Loads of ’em have like apps these days. These apps tend to be great for booking a taxi, obviously seeing the price upfront, and avoiding any language probs – quite the thing if, that is, you are not comfortable speaking Montenegrin. And yet there are still some older taxis which will not use the meter properly or at all, so just asking the price upfront will really save a problem later.
One little tale – that time my friend paid three times the meter fare by jumping into a taxi right outside a disco after one too many! Basically just use the apps, okay?

Considering seeing more of what’s nearby? Having your own ride is just ideal for escaping on your own and seeing locations a little further. Several car hire places – that’s very handy – in Budva make that quite simple. If, that is, you want that ultimate independence – driving along that coastal road to see Sveti Stefan will actually be awesome.
Plus, I seem to think this may matter. Make sure to do some homework before you actually pick up the keys. What I mean is, find a good local company for fairly decent terms. Getting the coverage could be quite important. Because traffic, right? So, double check their guidelines regarding coverage if something untoward were to occur. One slight heads up, parking at the height of the season might seem, somewhat, like an ultimate sport! But if you, maybe, hunt just a bit, parking places do show themselves.

Public Transportation: Bus Services
For getting around town and seeing spots close to Budva, taking buses tends to be fairly sensible and pretty inexpensive. This also runs on like pretty fixed timetables, therefore it’s quite wise, in general, to know what these seem to be ahead if you plan using a bus. Budva’s main bus station has buses operating pretty much to all of Montenegro including routes to places like Kotor, Podgorica, or maybe to actually go to less-visited destinations.
The great part about this? Traveling that way is actually economical for when your trip will basically center mostly inside the city, or if you, just, want a wallet-friendly means to see more locations close by.
One little story for you now – when, for example, traveling around, a friend did jump aboard the incorrect bus! And so we finished up at some random stunning shore we did not intend visiting at that point. However, as a result we made it the day’s ideal location.
