Top 5 New Mexico Day Trips: Explore the Land of Enchantment

Top 5 New Mexico Day Trips: Explore the Land of Enchantment

New Mexico landscape

New Mexico, that’s a spot nicknamed the “Land of Enchantment” for what you might know, and very fairly so. What you could do is, load up the car and get away from it all, as there’s a load of captivating beauty and also what you’d find is rich history right on its doorstep. Get ready for the big outdoors since we are fixing to look at, that’s top 5 day trips one could very easily have out of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, or practically wherever.

1. Bandelier National Monument: Ancestral Pueblo Dwellings

Bandelier National Monument

Just a short jump from Santa Fe, a Bandelier National Monument might be one of the more impressive trips you could hope to go on if you were after those old ancestral spots, like your Pueblo dwellings, in these cliff faces and mesa tops. It’s got this pretty intriguing history that some feel when visiting, and there’s so much, that’s like over 33,000 acres for anyone keen on having a really good trek, yet!

The main attraction, you see, that’s pretty clearly the Pueblo dwellings. Feel like having a peep inside; climb inside and explore spots which used to be, where the Ancestral Pueblo people had, kind of, lived between, maybe like, 1150 and 1600 AD? Pretty wild if you ask me, so you could just see this for real!

For hikers that enjoy a thing like having some pretty grand views, the Main Loop Trail, actually that’s the one to do. Seems easy since it’s roughly about, perhaps, a mile, or a smidge more, and almost flat, and basically runs along that base area of the cliffs, and it gets you up nice and intimate, in a way, with practically loads of those ruins.

That Alcove House, could it be known to some as the Ceremonial Cave? Maybe a highlight when one gets a glimpse of it for yourself, maybe a chance to climb like, arguably, about 140 feet above what you would figure to be the canyon floor using a mixture, too it’s almost of stairs and ladders! Once you get there, very what could be seen is, one kiva (sort of like, a religious chamber), a spot that tends to bring one’s own spirituality a little closer in touch with it, like you, I feel!

2. Tent Rocks National Monument: Unique Cone-Shaped Formations

Tent Rocks National Monument

For, like, maybe that totally distinctive landscape that New Mexico really kind of sells, you’d wanna consider getting your behind into Tent Rocks. So that natural location shows some super interesting conical rock kind of things formed via what they reckon, which really, is explosive eruptions of volcanos like, possibly, maybe, millions of annum back!

It’s located, rather near, Los Alamos, very just around the bend like some could say. In essence it is a more shorter drive, but, apparently one worth its weight in gold, because you would find, basically, those trails take you thru and very close to that cone that some folks admire!

That’s the slot canyon area in Slot Canyon Trail to be frank. So imagine kind of waltzing through there to where, usually it tends to be the walls rising on both sides of what might be the trail! It kind of, somewhat, gives you like, almost that enclosed feeling; what seems pretty unreal.

There is a Cave Loop Trail that will, quite maybe, prove that there are some lovely vistas from above. Quite scenic vistas that are up for keeps on both sides, actually. If you could, if anything get some kind of vista to see; make sure you bring your cameras.

Don’t disregard for one second that if you’re trekking the cone, it has these kind of suns beating on those cones and they almost radiate heat. The hike that’s done has to be earlier in the day, which does actually assist for everyone involved.

3. Taos: Historic Town and Artistic Hub

Taos New Mexico

Want to catch like the arts vibe, do it? Actually want to go through what you find really historical, you know sort of settings, possibly with buildings that, they’ve just never changed from where we originally, found things, when we began. What happens there might seem cool; why Taos happens to have almost every conceivable need you can want! Up north, and roughly somewhere nearby Albuquerque; and that small town really holds what New Mexico had in mind originally!

It appears to me there are numerous art hubs found here but the Taos Pueblo probably will top all of it. It turns out that place shows some of the old and inhabited tribal type homes that some admire for the area’s cultural settings.

For people that admire like this Rio Grande, for everyone wanting that view of the vista there, visit the Gorge Bridge. What I tend to do often is actually just simply enjoy what the scenery there seems to tell you, as the landscape looks just picture perfect, especially when viewing it right from over the bridge.

What some tourists are aware is there seems to be an actual museum found near the plaza, you might see the exhibits they had been planning there which some have to know will make you want to stay a bit.

Have what could prove an experience of visiting Taos town that has, in a way just never, or not ever, been lived for some other locations!

4. Jemez Springs: Scenic Beauty and Hot Springs

Jemez Springs New Mexico

To get where you are able to explore all that natural spring you hear of, which apparently offers the place of a village scene you never thought possible in what the high desert could present! So picture it a little clearer, but there may exist Jemez Springs; near Albuquerque but quite up on NM4, like some could say. The mountains around that area seemingly has always been there but also holds a really great, quite a lot better even, place, in what NM has always kept in store.

When there are forests around, those Jemez area does contain a load of just like these woodlands. Many trails are probably more for just those hiking times one needs to go on.

That particular hot springs site may even go to that village place to take those steaming spots near there; maybe that can do that for some.

People interested for something historical seem to frequent places like San José de los Jemez Mission & National Historic Landmark that have loads and loads to say about the state NM offers in droves and has seemingly saved there.

5. Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument: Spanish Missions and Pueblo Ruins

Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument

Like there aren’t places in New Mexico which just shout history but what makes up something to visit is what occurred way earlier from what it used be? See where the history really lies? What is seen more in that heart location has all of what you may have known there with what happens at this spot! To feel how that played it, see that Salinas Pueblo spot that features Spanish missions. That’s how it works in terms to all that those missions were known back in their hey day!

A key village seems that be named Quarai; like not as much is done there these days that is just from NM but to explore its past is done mostly by looking at the remnants, even.

What may make you just travel, and want to make those far away sights might seem, at any way to reach this location, a super treat of how NM seemingly works is when this location just shows everything to those sightseers. One seemingly wants that feeling or how did this mission begin its operations.

To travel throughout all in this area that encompasses that history you would be seeing at spots such as NM, you do get all that in return too; NM seems quite amazing in just what is to come, you see; one will seem pretty fulfilled by what comes through what the place shares when folks seem that, maybe, Salinas had every intent to always, somehow, offer something for all its townies.
