Let’s talk about the main event for many, which is that, the dinner. The food service was an open buffet setup, which is pretty much standard for these kinds of river cruises. As a matter of fact, the selection was fairly wide. You had a whole area for salads, with things like tahini, baba ghanoush, and various green salads and stuff. Then there was the hot food section, which offered, you know, choices like grilled kofta, chicken, fish, and a few vegetable dishes cooked in tomato sauce. There was also a good portion of rice and pasta to go with everything. To be honest, the quality was perfectly fine. Was it the best meal I ate in Cairo? You just sort of help yourself to what you want, as much as you want, which is always nice.

The city’s noise is sort of muffled out on the river, replaced by the boat’s music and the gentle hum of its engines. It’s enough time to have a relaxed meal, see the shows, and still have plenty of moments to just soak in the beautiful sights without feeling rushed at all.
