Turks and Caicos is an archipelago so there is lots of seafood here. Seafood here is more or less from the ocean. Many different restaurants serve fresh, local fish on menus and specials which is fantastic for what is a chain of Islands. Fish, lobster, shrimp, the fresh seafood will, well, maybe make you remember you are on vacation. Enjoy! Anyway, grilled lobster in a small beachside restaurant at sunset, that almost doesn’t sound too bad. Anyway, you will discover tuna steak grilled rare with like only salt and pepper on top. Very yum. Or the red snapper prepared with Creole spices.

Try the grilled local lobster when it is in season. That seafood just makes you want to have fun!

3. Peas ‘n’ Rice: A Caribbean Staple

4. Rum Punch: The Taste of the Islands

Rum Punch tastes similar around islands but that is not, like, a certainty. But, it’s a guarantee for like, very many to actually relax a little! A traditional island rum punch starts with what many see as very crucial. It’s just like you measure “one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong, and four of weak,” right? Anyway, lime juice gives the sour. Sweetness comes from some kind of sugar or syrup. Rum adds the required kick and the water dilutes some punch so too the flavours can dance on what is likely your palate!

5. Local Jerk Chicken

Yeah, while jerk chicken is originally from Jamaica, it gets lots of love throughout the Caribbean. Turks and Caicos have what is almost certainly this island-ish approach and offer a spin that makes people believe they might eat the most delectable versions anywhere in the West Indies. Locals basically massage it with fiery spices, scotch bonnet peppers, allspice and other fragrant secrets which provide what one sees as tender meat infused with an absolutely incredible flavor. Jerk chicken spots are available both at what could be thought of as the roadside stands. And so people love sitting on these patios for lunches because maybe that is what tastes so real when you eat some local chicken!

There is a heat to Jerk Chicken but sometimes not so too. Many locals enjoy providing that sweet and savory chicken flavour when people sit down to chow!
