Laguna de Chignahuapan, really, is that spot where everything just slows down; it’s basically a large lake near the town, usually perfect for a chill afternoon. Piedras Encimadas Valley, just outside Chignahuapan, contains naturally stacked rock formations that are almost otherworldly, that’s for sure. So, these really interesting rock stacks have, for instance, been created by literally years and years of wind and rain, apparently, turning the area into kind of a unique natural park. As a matter of fact, it’s amazing for hiking, and if you have some imagination, the stones almost seem like crazy statues, to. 4. Salto de San Antonio: Another Hidden Waterfall
Salto de San Antonio, typically, is just a little less well-known than Quetzalapan, and actually provides this sort of a quieter setting, maybe? In other words, the waterfall is smaller; yet, it still packs a visual punch. You might be able to hear the sound of the water as it really echoes through the forest, and really, there is some lovely hiking available in that area around the falls. Cerro Colorado, which is just outside Chignahuapan, typically is quite a popular hiking spot for those looking for a decent view, possibly.
