So, we’ve kinda explored all of it, and have put together what you can call our ‘Top 5’ list of places you should, that, like totally check out for food and drinks on SPI. Dirty Al’s: Home of the Original Fried Shrimp
OK, like, seriously, you just simply cannot visit South Padre Island without making a stop at Dirty Al’s, which is almost, kinda famous for their, I want to say “Original Fried Shrimp”. Actually this isn’t just a restaurant; I mean, it’s very much an experience, right? You’ll likely find that the atmosphere is really laid-back and really, truly festive. Think very picnic tables, paper towels, and you get to just chow down. By the way their shrimp is seriously killer! So, too it’s very crispy, perfectly seasoned, and like, that taste? It keeps bringing you back for way, way more. Actually they also do other seafood dishes too that you really have to look at like their fish tacos and crab legs. I was talking to one of the regulars, as a matter of fact, and they’ve been coming here for literally 20 years; yeah he’s really never had anything he did not care for!
You should probably consider visiting during, like, their happy hour. You’ll get some awesome deals on, for example, drinks and appetizers! Is that awesome, very much. The Blue Marlin Bar & Grill
Alright, I’d describe the Blue Marlin as that perfect, seriously chill beachfront paradise that combines fantastic food, I think really, very, yummy cocktails, and arguably one of the better, very best views on South Padre Island. Honestly, this place is quite ideal for lunch, dinner, or literally, like that sunset happy hour too! It can sometimes get a little crowded; but honestly, it only adds, you know? The restaurant, for example, features kinda Caribbean-inspired cuisine; as I was saying, their seafood is caught daily! Just that alone basically guarantees, you know, that, pretty much you’re really gonna enjoy a super fresh and really flavorful meal!
What, like, what, you have to try? First you should arguably look at their blackened redfish or I mean if you enjoy a juicy, pretty, nicely done burger, right? So you have to look at, that; is the Blue Marlin Burger! As I was saying the cocktail menu? Really creative, right? Try a classic margarita, it’s, that, refreshing. Seriously I could sip them all day long. I do not recommend it. I mean if you have plans after, obviously, but if you are looking for an afternoon buzz. Sea Ranch Restaurant
OK. Let’s talk about that Sea Ranch Restaurant. They are one of, that; South Padre Island’s, like really super historical dining spots that are, might be, serving up, I want to say, basically that absolute best, I mean best, seafood for, like, over 30 years! Really it’s basically sitting, kinda, right on the Laguna Madre Bay, you know, that provides like absolutely stunning views. So really, actually you could see what you are eating. Well. Maybe! You know they serve the seafood straight from the gulf, in some respects!
I do have to recommend, that, that; starting with the Shrimp Kisses. Actually it is pretty tasty and flavorful little appetizer. After that then I really kinda enjoyed, basically that super fresh catch of the day. Like perfectly grilled, or perhaps pan-seared, right? Anyway you are like totally in charge of how to you want to taste the flavors. So their staff? Pretty attentive and absolutely make sure that really your dining experience is absolutely top-notch; and frankly memorable, you know. Liam’s Irish Pub
Now then let us shift kinda gears and actually head over to Liam’s Irish Pub for maybe a lil’ bit of a change of scenery, it is true. Now this place? It is basically where you’re actually able to find a real taste, as I was saying, that, like, traditional Irish hospitality and the usual comfort food. Actually, it’s also just very lively and fun.
Now honestly, what, pretty much what do you need to look at? The bangers and mash! By the way, the shepherd’s pie are basically two of those staples! Right, and seriously prepared really, super, authentically! The beer selection? Pretty extensive, in fact. Arguably, if you fancy an ice-cold Guinness? Or are you leaning to maybe trying a local craft brew? They probably have something for you, yeah. At night time, this, honestly; becomes more of a real hub for live music, I feel! Frankly that attracts pretty both the locals and that of tourists. Honestly there is almost that guarantee of like just a fun evening! Louie’s Backyard
So if, in the event that you seriously just enjoy something, actually, that kinda lively atmosphere? Probably then you are gonna like, that; want to consider, almost, checking out Louie’s Backyard! I think it’s really pretty known for the beautiful waterfront setting as well as a real bustling vibe.
