Top Nantucket Food & Drink: Your Ultimate Guide
Nantucket, that gorgeous island some 30 miles off the coast of Massachusetts, isn’t just about beaches and history; that place, too, is pretty much a food and drink lover’s dream. I mean, seriously, with super fresh seafood, charming little restaurants, and a surprisingly interesting beverage scene, discovering that area, just a bit, is similar to opening a treasure chest. I’m going to share my favorites, you know, after years of visiting that island. This rundown really, really reflects my personal experience combined, obviously, with local opinions. Basically, I aimed to create something helpful whether you’re there for a relaxed vacation or just a quick day adventure. Let’s check out the spots you absolutely have to go to!
1. Cru Oyster Bar: Where Oysters Meet Elegance
First up is Cru Oyster Bar. What’s really cool about this area is how it’s right on the water; that way, while you enjoy top-tier seafood, you also enjoy incredible views of the harbor. It turns out their oysters are incredibly popular—super fresh, briny, and they arrive every day. The vibe there is somehow laid-back but sophisticated, that sort of mood, I suppose. They have other stuff if you aren’t so interested in raw shellfish, obviously, just like their lobster rolls and pan-roasted cod. It’s just that their champagne and wine options really make every meal extra delightful.
If, for instance, you get lucky and go at sunset, it’s pretty magical; in a way, all the colors reflecting off the water is amazing. It really does get popular, very, very fast, therefore securing a reservation could be a cool idea. We had a reservation for our anniversary, and it felt really, really like a total win because people got turned away. Anyway, give it a visit; you might actually like Cru Oyster Bar quite a bit!

2. Cisco Brewers: A Taste of Nantucket’s Spirit
Okay, now if beer, wine, and spirits are a lot like your thing, Cisco Brewers might just become your favorite spot on Nantucket. This place is, too, seriously unique. Seriously, where else would you find a brewery, a winery, and a distillery on one site? It’s very, very laid back— picnic tables, live music, that whole sort of scene. Very often, families and groups come here; it is almost like everyone gets something they enjoy, right?. Plus, you can actually enjoy local food trucks that stop there; as a matter of fact, you’re going to find them there a lot during the summer.
Basically, their Whale’s Tale Pale Ale is well known, and so are their vodkas flavored by fruit at Triple Eight Distillery; besides, Nantucket Vineyard wines have something that fits, arguably, just any taste. If that’s okay with you, it’s ideal to check what music act is playing, or if there’s maybe a special event. As I was saying, you should come see the property even, I mean, even when the outdoor section closes, because the year-round pub will likely still be open.

3. The Proprietors Bar & Table: A Culinary Adventure
When I was told by my friend, that owns a place on the island, to go here, she said, “Look this is the culinary gem of the place, for reals!”. It really might be my absolute favorite location on Nantucket; they do such unique, little takes on classics, a bit. Is that ok if I say it like this, this spot’s menu always has things you’ve never heard of before! Every time that my friends and I go, that place surprises us with amazing meals.
Small dishes and a great bar, alright. The servers tend to make that spot very approachable. That does get very busy as you’d imagine. We actually made reservations three weeks ahead because that little treasure tends to be highly, incredibly requested. The place to eat for true culinary people, alright.

4. Brant Point Grill: Views and Upscale Eats
Brant Point Grill, or BPG for many, might be one of those places that offers everything. Arguably located at the White Elephant Hotel, you probably will be wowed by that scenery, that is just picture-perfect. That’s why BPG is cool if, just a bit, you wanna treat yourself, more or less. That menu is filled, literally filled with, the steak and seafood classics but prepared so very nicely, or at least that’s the word of mouth.
Think fresh oysters and creamy clam chowder. Their fish entrees happen to be well-received, but if, in some respects, you fancy surf and turf, get those steaks cooked exactly, totally perfectly. Get there a little before, okay, or reserve dinner to watch sunsets over the harbor for stunning photo-ops, usually. Just a few actually think you’re going to experience something you won’t be forgetting for sometime when the lighting is doing all sorts of, totally stunning, things. They make sure you get all of this plus amazing dining.

5. Something Natural: For Casual Bites and Island Vibes
Okay, but say that you want food, and food in an casual way is pretty good. Then you probably must find Something Natural; you know, a relaxed sandwich store. When tourists arrive on the island, they stop there. In some respects, this restaurant, that is tucked a bit off the beaten track is actually where lots of, pretty yummy, casual bites will appear at great prices.
As a matter of fact, all those breads will be what everyone talks about. But still there will be cookies! Maybe for lunch, maybe while going to a boat tour… you won’t, actually, hate this. You and your wallet too, is that okay?! Well, that’s Nantucket.
