So, you’re looking for places to chow down and grab a drink in Sainte-Luce, sounds like a great plan! Well, Sainte-Luce, that charming little town in Martinique, it’s not just about pretty beaches and sunny skies, it’s a bit of a hidden hotspot for tasty food, too. It has a good selection of spots where you can sample awesome local flavors, like your seafood that’s literally from the sea or even the super-unique Caribbean spices, that can deliver meals you just wouldn’t find anywhere else. This article it will act as your yummy tour guide, leading you to my top five must-visit spots where you can experience Sainte-Luce at its most delicious.
1. Restaurant Pura Vida: Beachfront Bliss
You know, Restaurant Pura Vida, it sits right on the beach, which pretty much guarantees views that will really catch your eye, while you eat. That part of the ambiance sets things off just right. Now, about the eats – this place does some great takes on local fare. That’s a safe bet for anyone seeking authenticity, isn’t it? People often praise it’s fresh seafood dishes, in particular the grilled fish, is that very very good, because its prepared with this amazing blend of spices that just explode with flavor. Their cocktails are great as well. It’s the type of place to spend a relaxing afternoon into sunset enjoying a meal and some drinks with friends, because who wouldn’t want to do that?

2. Case Coco: A Taste of Creole Charm
Want something with a little homey, relaxed vibes? Well, Case Coco is like visiting that favorite aunt who always cooks just too good of a food. The setting may have you feeling like you’re eating in someone’s vibrant backyard, due to the super cheerful decor and that very very welcoming vibe. Their menu is a great nod to Creole cooking, showing some local flavors. The restaurant’s Colombo, it’s a sort of curried meat stew that is quite loved in the Caribbean, this is totally it’s one of those “must try” kind of foods that most folks speak so fondly about. Be sure to end your dinner with something like their homemade rum punch, very nice touch to cap things off.
Their atmosphere is what truly separates Case Coco from all the others; they do a good job mixing some chill local hang out spot, but also feeling upscale. Definitely is somewhere on that end. That doesn’t matter though since you get more bang for your buck! What a cool thing!

3. Le Mabouya: Sophistication with a View
Now, if it is elegance with a bit of fanciness you might be trying to search, Le Mabouya, they really set a high bar with views that go all out. Almost, every table offers some stunning panoramas of the Caribbean Sea; a fantastic backdrop to an outstanding dinner. This restaurant, they pride themselves quite a bit on creative twists on french classics, along with what is basically Martinique-inspired meals. That attention to detail comes through with each and every dish. The restaurant’s wine list tends to pair very wonderfully well with the choices, and their staff, might I add, really understands what suggestions they need to make to truly give your dining some pizzazz.
Also Le Mabouya is the kinda place people pick for anniversaries and super-important dates. I mean this might be right up your alley. Who knows?

4. Kilibe Snack: Quick Bites, Big Flavors
Ok, sometimes you just want something that is super quick and yummy, and if that’s your mood, there really is no need to look any further than Kilibe Snack. It’s just more or less a local favorite that seems to get a good amount of rave about its seriously delicious sandwiches, as I was saying. Don’t pass on the bokits, these local fried dough sandwiches, that folks absolutely seem to love loading up with just delicious fillings. If you want something very sweet and local be sure to grab yourself a tourment d’amour, just basically meaning “love cake”, these things, could be more or less heaven to some. Also, you can’t argue with the price, since it lets you experience true Caribbean flavors without damaging your wallet.
A lot of these Caribbean street vendors, they tend to create some amazing products, as a matter of fact, it just goes back to being resourceful with all that they have available, and Kilibe does a very very great job with that!

5. Ti Punch Bar: Where the Locals Mingle
No trip to Martinique will basically be fully complete, and so, should involve diving into some very authentic “Ti Punch.” This place isn’t only just a bar, though; rather, it has just very deeply steeped local culture and gives that to travelers who walk through it’s doors. When people go there they create a “Ti Punch” made of rhum agricole, sugarcane syrup, maybe a little bit of lime to your taste. You should be able to unwind a little bit and perhaps talk with some local patrons, as that definitely happens more than you’d think in most bars. So maybe that bar, you’ll hear stories, get some ideas about places you can travel next, perhaps even a joke, who really knows?
