Top Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Outdoor Escapes: Nature & Adventure
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, sometimes called “Meck-Pomm” for short, is really a spot in northern Germany that you maybe didn’t think about a bunch, right? Well, you totally should, because it has almost way too much gorgeous scenery, lots of history, and plenty of spots just great for anyone wanting an outdoor thrill. So, whether you want a calming hike, a wild watersport adventure, or just a lovely bike ride, Meck-Pomm might be it. Let’s take a look at the best outdoor spots that you should go see sometime. I think you will love these ideas!
Müritz National Park: Hiking and Wildlife Spotting
The Müritz National Park is a really massive protected bit of land and maybe the best spot to jump into what’s outdoors, in Meck-Pomm. First off, you could explore so many trails just right for every skill level. But it’s more than just hiking, apparently! If you are keen, so keep your eyes out, and you might glimpse really odd wildlife like ospreys, red deer, and maybe even white-tailed eagles. You see a great blue heron, right? Just perfect.
A bunch of folks really recommend beginning at the visitor center in Federow. That is that spot with details on paths and planned trips. I mean, I kind of think the “Five Lakes Tour” is a must do thing; that loops around the biggest lakes and gets you up close with natural sights and spots to view birds. As you go around, you’ll soon understand that this spot isn’t just about hiking; this place has real heart.

Jasmund National Park: Chalk Cliffs and Coastal Trails
Do you know what to go see some cliffs and shores, so think Jasmund National Park. They are really famous for the stark chalk cliffs, like the “King’s Chair” (Königsstuhl). When you arrive here, get prepared for real drama from these grand chalk features meeting the Baltic. Plus, those forests, ancient ones, go right to the coast, so then you will get one of a kind scenery while strolling.
That main trail takes you to the Königsstuhl, which has incredible wide out views, usually very much worth capturing with a great pic. Oh, and by the way, don’t just hang at the prime viewing point. So, maybe spend time going down the staircases right down to the shore. Walk along there to check out those pebble strewn beaches plus find odd bits of washed up amber.
If hiking maybe isn’t up your alley, so too bad; but maybe jump on a bike ride. The Jasmund park gives a choice of planned cycle routes, winding across soft slopes, so this gives you more chances to see great views with some speed.

Mecklenburg Lake District: Sailing and Watersports
That Mecklenburg Lake District seems perfect for watersports with a mass of touching lakes and rivers, of course. Basically it provides perfect places to kayak, canoe, and windsurf. That peaceful backdrop and safe spots causes this place to be really ideal for people that haven’t gotten into that hobby yet.
People love to sail at Lake Müritz and that could be that prime water place in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Many little towns lining that shore, such as Waren, gives loads of boat rentals together with boating classes, if sailing seems scary. When sailing that huge lake you are gonna bump into odd smaller bays where, with any luck, a calmer day has you swimming or just take some down time on your own in the nature you pass through.
I think kayaking just may be the ultimate means to carefully explore all the waterways at Mecklenburg Lake District. It will be, like, awesome fun to paddle from shorelines which means there might be an odd area to park your craft plus hike near waterfalls in those parks!

Usedom Island: Beaches and Coastal Biking
Is Usedom the “sun isle?” Anyway, that might be. Usedom is cool; you find silky shorelines plus loads of sunshine that causes this spot to become awesome to unwind at that sea plus do different outdoor type things.
Do you need just about perfect? I guess! This coastline almost shouts how ideal the conditions here have got. It helps that that broad boardwalk does have loads of spots with eateries including shops close by while a perfect opportunity comes to slowly enjoy a relaxing sea sunset. Of course I had to suggest it because that’s too perfect.
Is this news? Bike rides are almost built-in when folks mention Usedom with hundreds of kms, maybe over a thousand kms of roads for you. Maybe go into those “three imperial spas” trails such as Bansin, Heringsdorf plus Ahlbeck, or hit up paths snaking inside Achterland, so you are getting remote glimpses as a bonus.

Sternberg Lake District Nature Park: Quiet Waters and Canoe Tours
That Sternberg Lake District is usually overlooked, yet this spot has serene spots for someone keen to be outside. You can get this area in between Schwerin as well as Güstrow to boast lovely lakes, tons of forests and rolling landscape, just awesome for hiking or simple nature adventures.
Get canoeing or maybe some rowing for something real calm; Sternberger See is real appealing here. Usually these waters display calmness allowing just about everyone irrespective of whether experienced with canoeing, gets to explore silent bays and view varied birdlife easily at a slower pace. In case you wish more alone spots when visiting, loads of the smaller ponds nearby get quieter, which creates them real good with only wildlife close by. Also?
What should the hikers watch out for around there? Just those clearly signed trails. If someone should check the loop surrounding the Hohen Viecheln which moves right by some key bits from natural interest. Then, it also brings wide views looking over that calm setting right across that area! So good.
