Lausanne’s Best Outdoor Escapes: My Top 5 Activities

Lausanne, Switzerland is such a spot that often surprises folks with just how much outdoor fun is there to be had. Very far from a city where you’re just pacing around buildings, you find this kind of amazing combo of city life and awesome natural spaces. That it sits right by Lake Geneva, backed by hills? A total win for any person keen on being outside! If you’re planning your trip or basically just searching for new ideas, then this rundown of my top five outdoor must-do’s might be just what you need.

1. Lakeside Promenade Exploration

I find a chill walk (or even better, a bike ride) down Lausanne’s lakeside promenade is such a great starting move for anyone hitting the town. Starting from Ouchy, that promenade gives such an awesome trail right next to Lake Geneva, showing scenes of both the city right next to calming water. Now and then, there are parks that give you great places just to chill. You get the vibe of that fancy Riviera feeling; as I was saying, you might feel you are not actually that far off! As I remember, the flowerbeds were just something else, especially in the summertime.

Along the path, there are cool attractions worth your pauses. As a matter of fact, I have some in mind right now. There’s the Olympic Museum – a tribute spot for any sports fan. Anyway, not that far from it is such a cute little harbor, basically giving chances for boat tours if, for instance, you feel like watching Lausanne from another angle. When the dusk light makes the water appear golden, it will stay with you, that’s for sure. 2. Hiking in Sauvabelin Forest

Alright, so when the city vibe actually starts seeming a little stuffy, what you need is the Sauvabelin Forest. It is basically like escaping into the wild. So close to the city, yet that forest makes anyone feel a million miles out from everyone. Basically, this spot lets you go on walking paths among big trees; I mean, some of those old oaks are like nature’s towers!

Actually, I did not expect it myself, but the star over there really is the Sauvabelin Tower. Anyway, made completely of wood, the cool watchtower thing shows crazy scenes over Lausanne, the lake and Jura Mountains if weather is great. Now, as a matter of fact, hiking there isn’t just for those that walk by themselves, too. Basically, there’s a park in there where children can play, too it’s almost. You will just relax there, as I was saying. It might be cool just for your outdoor break if it’s all you need.

3. Watersports on Lake Geneva

Speaking about being on water, if it excites anyone a bit more, then it is time you go directly into it! I mean, Lake Geneva might as well turn into this large outdoor activity thing because anyone is really able to get into everything that includes boating. I am talking that someone likes to just use oars for a simple row as the sun rises – that, I am pretty sure, anyone should remember – yet as well a bunch that are more fast-paced, such as riding wind on sailboats. Lausanne has different spots to give stuff and teach so even a total beginner could pick it up. Did someone try stand-up paddleboarding, too? Like your core should appreciate you! 4. Lavaux Vineyard Terraces Hike

So, that, as I remember, is actually so amazing about going outside in Lausanne. Hiking amid Lavaux vineyards could almost feel as getting thrown in this frame! You stroll so easy that this world heritage gem just gives – its walkways take you just along vineyard sections providing wide-looking shots right on what any photographer likes – Swiss Alps against light waves moving on Geneva Lake. Then it will probably be the ideal plan, but, now and then, when you pause there are cellars to show great wines which are created basically out of just nearby plants. Is it too much enjoyment for eyes if one thinks you move amid green scenes and sip that wine which warms just you up!

It gives such a simple climbing bit in heights right surrounding town giving watchers even extra scenes which usually only mountains make open. This location offers not views too it’s almost just a great bit above other city levels allowing someone enjoy a calm, peaceful break; is probably what local runners enjoy really well! Then children feel totally excited right here – some huge spaces right for activities are surely what make families select visiting almost weekly, that or is it probably free park that works better, but.

When not in snow seasons then Signal shines brightly simply like sun kisses any nearby point! Bring along something yummy like homemade pastries along soft chairs that always can found near; it really will just change even boring outings near awesome ones full that relaxation factor too – you see, I bet everyone thinks travelling there soon looks more attractive right?!
