1. Chickasaw Cultural Center: Stories Woven in Time

You could actually spend days there at the Chickasaw Cultural Center, really, and you’d probably still find something new each time, almost. It is not just, perhaps, a museum, it’s a totally amazing experience, if you are into the American Indian culture. You can, you know, watch live performances, there are, like, dances and storytelling that just kind of jump right off the stage, right? Plus, too, there’s the traditional Chickasaw village, a real cool outdoor exhibit, where you can see what life was very much like for the Chickasaw people, honestly, a long, long time ago, you know? And then there are all the exhibits. They are incredibly informative, telling, almost, all the Chickasaw nation story. Very cool! This cultural center, that I think really stands for all people’s cultural experiences, right?

This one place alone, very much, brings out and introduces a better cultural art! And a bit of historical art. Basically, the Chickasaw Cultural Center shares art made years ago, like it happened just recently, basically.

2. East Central University Art Gallery: Young Talent Showcase

The East Central University Art Gallery, well, it is the place to check out that fresh, super up-and-coming talent in Ada, don’t you know? The gallery usually shows, I would say, works of current students and faculty, so, in a way, you’re getting a peek at what tomorrow’s artists are playing with right now. The art is really different, ranging, you know, from paintings to sculptures and all sort of new media stuff that’s incredibly amazing, just pretty interesting, anyway, so if you are very much into art, then get in there! The atmosphere here tends to be pretty inspiring, sort of. I also have to admit that this very art place isn’t only for those people still in school because they offer really, just many workshops and also local exhibitions for any artist interested. Also, they sometimes host various local exhibitions, offering some unique insights. You can explore all of this when you arrive at Ada!

3. Pontotoc County Historical and Genealogical Society Museum: Peeking into the Past

Okay, so if you are thinking about more than just paintings and sculptures, the Pontotoc County Historical and Genealogical Society Museum will, actually, blow your mind. You’ll see history like never before! In the very little ways of course. This museum, like, basically gives you this very cool glimpse into Ada and Pontotoc County’s history. A lot of historical insights about Ada’s people, Ada’s past, and, too, the artifacts from way back, all set up with these informative displays and stories. This way it’s easier to learn what happened, too. You can wander through rooms and all its exhibits and think “how things got here, as it is?” because that history is super great to appreciate and, honestly, all that helps you feel a closer relationship to the place. Now this very one can definitely take you to a specific timeline!

4. Wintersmith Park: Art in the Open Air

Wintersmith Park, yeah, that is where the art goes out to play, actually. It’s not like your typical museum space. Because of art here, they bring people to walk through nature, and find things that can tell stories as they relax. In particular, very often the park hosts various outdoor art displays and festivals. But any regular day it is very pleasing and satisfying to find nature here with places to wander through and all things relaxing to see in an aesthetic place, right? It has got green spaces and, too, water features that are definitely a good place to feel and experience all the peace! Art becomes alive!

Don’t just limit yourself to the big names when looking for an art experience, do visit very little places.
