Anguilla’s Top 5 Food & Drink: A Delicious Review
You know, Anguilla, that little gem in the Caribbean, isn’t just about pristine beaches; it’s also very much a foodie haven! You’ll find so many interesting spots serving up food and drinks there. I want to share some thoughts on spots for meals and cocktails. From beachside grills to places providing dinner. So, let’s explore some spots that could really tickle your taste buds. And I think that you might find some tasty treats you may fancy.
1. Sunshine Shack: Beach Vibes and Tasty BBQ
Okay, picture this: toes in the sand, a cold drink in your hand, and the smoky aroma of a BBQ. So, that’s basically Sunshine Shack! It’s on Rendezvous Bay. Garvey, who runs the place, is pretty awesome. It has an amazing view too. He’s got these killer ribs and chicken, cooked how you might fancy. The rum punch? It’s more or less legendary. It’s very good too! A tad strong so be careful. The music’s always playing nice beats too! That should make you want to stick around for a good while. You may want to give this spot a try!
I remember one afternoon there, that’s right, talking to Garvey about his secret BBQ sauce, you know? It took a bit of persuasion to squeeze it out of him! Though he did not completely give away the secret. He claims the trick is all in the timing and good quality ingredients. Well, that and the special way he does the marinade! This, naturally, has become an almost iconic spot because the vibe is nice and the food is great.

2. Blanchards Beach Shack: A Casual Delight
So, if you’re after a more upscale experience that doesn’t leave all the beach bum vibes behind, Blanchards Beach Shack is worth a visit. That’s right. You can also dine under the stars! This place is on Meads Bay and owned by the same people as the fancy restaurant next door. Think gourmet pizzas, fantastic salads, and even lobster if you’re feeling very lavish. The cocktails are rather expertly made too! The vibe’s is often pretty chill.
One evening, I saw some tourists trying pretty much every item on the menu. The lobster pizza went down really, really well. Another great anecdote I saw here! A group of people celebrated their anniversary and the team at Blanchard’s put on some cake and bubbly to enjoy! Moments are made, and I really think this place tries to deliver on a consistent basis.

3. Tasty’s Restaurant: A Local Gem
Looking to eat where locals actually hang out, as a matter of fact? Then Tasty’s should definitely be a spot for you! Tasty’s Restaurant serves local cuisine that offers a relaxed setting, located near to the Sandy Ground area, that could fill your foodie void with lots of options. They provide dishes like conch fritters, the famous Anguillian goat stew, and plenty of fresh seafood. It may well be more of a taste of the island’s culture than just a meal. Very good!
What I love there is the very friendly faces of the staff, that really seems to add to the eating experience, you see? One time, I was trying to order something not even on the menu, you know? That day’s catch hadn’t been put up and advertised as it was in transit to be there! Well, the owner, Dale Carty, was very nice and went to the kitchen to work some magic! He then cooked some lovely red snapper for me! Now, it doesn’t get much fresher than that!

4. Pumphouse: Drinks and Tunes by the Sea
Want some lively evenings, alright? Then the Pumphouse has very loud, yet brilliant, music alongside a menu! Over in Sandy Ground. That is a must. What used to be a literal pumphouse (you know, for salt) is now really a spot that can host tourists and locals! Also the establishment sometimes has live bands playing into the night! So make the most of those offers! You can dance away until your feet hurt. And so what? Make sure you enjoy yourself. Very awesome!
I still remember one gig they put on, which was local reggae artists. They attracted a lot of fans to the dance floor. And you might be amazed, but, as I heard the reggae vibes, so there I saw everyone. They drank great cocktails too! From all walks of life! Even a couple who renewed their wedding vows turned up, dancing! Music has a way of bringing us altogether!

5. Da’Vida Restaurant & Spa: Sophistication with a View
You after more stylish surroundings for your meal? As a matter of fact. Da’Vida’s offers a unique luxury retreat. They really made sure that the tourists keep coming to visit. Their main offering comes via fine dining in the evening, it could be a treat. The spot has some amazing views of Crocus Bay, and the menu is as you might like it to be, top notch! What you can be expecting to find is grilled seafood to modern interpretations. This venue definitely should have you in awe.
Last summer, I sat outside with some colleagues from work. As we went here we thought the drinks and snacks should suit all! A top of the pops service it turned out. So they have amazing cocktails on offer here. And their sommelier assisted to choose some superb white wines. He then knew pretty much his menu! It felt very good to taste! In the process it’s safe to say that you could say that your trip can definitely come into perspective!
