1. Cheddar Gorge: A Dramatic Slice of Somerset
Think about Somerset, and it is almost impossible not to picture Cheddar Gorge, really. This is no subtle affair, you see; It’s all towering limestone cliffs and super winding roads cutting their way through that very heart of the Mendip Hills. Just to stand at the bottom is somewhat overwhelming. You might fancy getting some serious fresh air? The Gorge is calling out to those keen on stretching their legs. 2. Bath: History and Elegance Combined
Oh, Bath, really! Such a city built on history. But what gives Bath its identity, arguably, is a stylish flourish, right? You will have known the Romans loved the place. Well, now you can walk exactly where they once walked, see the thermal waters, and take in what the Roman Baths may have once been like. The architecture in Bath gives such a sense of grace, actually. It will come as quite no shock that it is is a UNESCO World Heritage site, yet you will think of the Royal Crescent; you’ll notice the Palladian designs, and the way that honey-colored stone glows in the sunlight.
That is, Bath does cater to those after a spot of pampering as well. You may have come across the Thermae Bath Spa with that super amazing rooftop pool, yet you will know about all that mineral-rich water. And taking a dip as you gaze across Bath itself; that’s just great! But, you might ask, what if history really isn’t your thing? Well, maybe you can have a wander around those shops, enjoy, as a matter of fact, tea and cake in some stylish tearoom or another. Or even hit the Bath nightlife scene, right?

3. Weston-super-Mare: Seaside Fun and a Whole Lot More
Fancy that British seaside experience? Then it is likely that Weston-super-Mare is, quite actually, where it’s happening. From, honestly, the Grand Pier jutting out over that beach, to, basically, the aroma of chips in the air, what with all these penny arcades, and those donkey rides. This is what makes so many people just happy to be beside the sea. The beach is enormous, actually; perfect, right, for families wanting to build sandcastles, maybe those with that bucket and spade.
You would fancy an escape from the sand for a short time? You will discover a super range of attractions. There’s that SeaQuarium, for one, actually, showing off the secrets deep beneath, while those crazy ones can even get a helicopter trip across the coastline; how good does that sound?! When it gets to teatime, you will want an ice cream on the front; that’s one of the laws if you’re ever on the seaside, you see.

4. The Cotswolds: Picture-postcard Perfection
Want to, very, visit somewhere with gently-sloping hillsides and honey-stone villages? Well, that’s The Cotswolds, that is, anyway. Sure enough, It’s what makes all this a seriously beautiful area to just get lost in; almost like something from the movies. Villages such as Castle Combe and Bourton-on-the-Water look picture perfect, really.
It can be just so very nice walking along those countryside routes, seeing a local pub at the finish, while having a well earned, like your, pint. Want that real insight into history? Then, for example, check out Sudeley Castle. And gardens! That place is the very place Katherine Parr lived; you’re in for such an experience.

5. Somerset’s Gems: Wells, Glastonbury, and More
Right, Somerset has that something extra to bring. Have you, in some respects, seen Wells? That’s such a great spot. Wells is famed for its beautiful cathedral, yet the Bishops Palace is worth exploring. A unique feature? Well, a moat which has swans that ring a bell to receive their dinner, you know. About a half hour away by car is the location for Glastonbury.
Well, now Glastonbury may be famed for its music festival, and maybe that slightly bohemian vibe that does draw, like, a great number of people to its streets. So too there is Glastonbury Tor, dominating that skyline and with a number of myths that are linked to it, like your tale of King Arthur and the Holy Grail. This one has incredible sights to savour. Somerset really is awash with pretty little villages and places full of history. It makes an awesome break from that hubbub in Bristol.
