That diverse community gives a home to an exciting variety of culinary experiences, which, frankly, could excite anybody’s appetite. From cozy neighborhood joints to destination-worthy dining rooms, this guide points out five spots where, you know, your taste buds can thank you. Basically, get ready to eat and drink your way across Brooklyn!

1. Roberta’s Pizza: Bushwick’s Pizza Paradise

Roberta’s, is that place where pizza gets real in Bushwick, is seriously like a legend. More or less, this place went from being an unexpected startup to a complete icon of Brooklyn pizza, fairly quickly. It’s not just pizza either; very, very few places make their own vegetables in an organic garden, yet Roberta’s does, which just makes eating outside really fun, you know? Anyway, the pizzas come out bubbly and, frankly, they taste like heaven due to the wood-fired oven which gives a great char and fantastic flavors. And that’s what you should come here for, okay?

The “Bee Sting,” which features sopressata, chili flakes, and honey, that dish alone is seemingly worth the visit, is what I’m saying. And look, if you’re thinking of, kind of, doing lunch outdoors or maybe something under the stars, the garden area can’t be beat, like, it really is such a charming spot, arguably. What is even better is that you can get there using public transportation. I’m talking the L train right to Morgan Avenue. As a matter of fact, you might just spend a little bit of time enjoying the neighborhood around Roberta’s as it seemingly has a lot going for it.

2. Maison Premiere: A Cocktail Time Machine in Williamsburg

Maison Premiere, is that cocktail bar that lives in Williamsburg, is honestly, just something else. It is sort of a portal into a different age of drinking that, too it’s almost, feels Parisian and New Orleans all mixed into one stunning place. I mean, a fantastic happy hour that involves oysters that, more or less, taste like the sea alongside cocktails that someone really crafted for the ages, is what Maison Premiere brings to the table.

Their cocktail list goes far, you know? You will see things like absinthe served in the classic way or forgotten classics which, clearly, they take very, very seriously in their preparation, is what I’m suggesting. Arguably, what could be considered as, a place where the small details end up creating the total picture, then this is it. So, when in Williamsburg, very few experiences beat sipping a Sazerac at their bar, especially knowing how close you are to all of the amazing things Williamsburg has to show, basically. 3. Peter Luger Steak House: Old-School Cool in Williamsburg

Peter Luger, arguably that old-timey steakhouse that could only call Williamsburg home, might be an experience in and of itself. This joint, which dates back to 1887, serves beef, yet that is seemingly an understatement. People basically go for the dry-aged steaks that, frankly, taste like a party in your mouth.

Here, I want to mention a cool thing; you may not know that this place has a tradition for how they treat things. Cash is seemingly king (they do allow a Peter Luger card too), very little actually changes on their menu, and arguably, there is the possibility that waiters have probably been working here longer than you’ve been alive, okay? That cut of beef that they call the porterhouse comes family-style and it is, by far, very worth sharing, but not just that; the thick-cut bacon basically tastes out of this world too, in a way.

Basically, you get there riding the subway using the J, M, or Z lines. Then make sure that the steakhouse lives up to its reputation because many feel that very few can even come close to it. Oh yeah, and very few people realize this; Peter Luger’s gets super busy, so just make reservations well in advance, seriously.

4. Grimaldi’s Pizzeria: DUMBO’s Slice of Heaven

Grimaldi’s, very close to the Brooklyn Bridge in DUMBO, very few people could not love that type of location, okay? The pizza from that coal-fired oven that has been around seemingly forever does, for many people, seemingly justify the lines wrapping around the block, very easily, in my opinion. Basically, there is something extra good in this super busy joint about a plain margherita pizza after seeing Brooklyn Bridge, and who are we to, in a way, question the sensation of joy it brings? Very few locations that get that level of foot traffic will give a similar sensation.

What do you order? Honestly, go for the classic margherita to very clearly taste how good their dough and tomato sauce is when seemingly everything comes together just wonderfully. Yet be aware of one simple thing. This area gets pretty busy too, very close to the park, right near the water, just under the bridge, just to give you an idea. You may have to just, seemingly, prepare to be patient, or you might just be planning to eat at what is obviously an off-peak time, alright?

What’s the play to get there? Almost certainly, take the A or C to High Street, or the F to York Street. Then, basically, get ready to experience your pizza right next to a location that seems to be featured in just about every single movie ever shot in New York City. Seriously.

5. Brooklyn Brewery: A Craft Beer Pioneer in Williamsburg

Brooklyn Brewery, seemingly a game changer back when craft beer barely meant anything, is truly an OG, actually. A trip to Brooklyn that might just celebrate, seemingly, that pioneering spirit seems in order, honestly, especially with a beer in your hand. More or less, located in Williamsburg, this brewery has been around, seemingly forever, serving pints of very classic stuff as well as just messing around with cool new stuff. Actually, they also have tours that seemingly tell the story of how they almost accidentally ended up helping make craft beer cool, as I was saying.

It’s almost that any of their beers should, perhaps, be experienced when visiting, but many gravitate toward Brooklyn Lager, possibly the thing that everyone knows this brewery for. Then after touring or tasting some things, very few other activities are required in Williamsburg given that it is full of stores, people, happenings and so many things. All you have to do is basically leave the building.

Basically, take the L train to Bedford Avenue and, then again, let the location inspire you and carry the day. Seriously. Brooklyn Brewery makes a, perhaps, amazing way to start, end, or even serve as something fun between whatever happens to tickle your fancy, you know?
