Then, of course, we got to Heroes’ Square.

I mean, this place is seriously big. László didn’t just tell us to take a picture; instead, he walked with us around the statues. He pretty much told us who each figure was, from the Magyar chieftains to the kings and rulers. To be honest, without him, they would have just been stone figures to us. He made the history feel a little more alive, you know? Likewise, we stopped to see the Parliament building. It’s absolutely massive up close, way bigger than you think. You know, you can’t just walk in, that’s a whole other thing to book, but seeing the outside and hearing about its construction was still very cool. Our guide, thankfully, knew a spot to pull over so we could just stand there and take it all in for a minute.

Up top, we parked and started to walk around. Honestly, this part of the tour felt like stepping into a fairytale. We walked through the area of Buda Castle and then over to Fisherman’s Bastion. You know, it’s that place with the white turrets that looks like something out of a storybook. We could, like, walk along its walls and look through the archways at the city below. László was right there with us, obviously, telling us all sorts of stuff about the Bastion and why it was built. He then led us to Matthias Church, which is right next to it. That church, with its colorful tiled roof, is just so different. Frankly, we learned more about Hungarian kings and history in that one spot than we ever did in school. It was all so interesting, you know, because it was right there in front of us.

You know, The Flexibility and Personal Touches

I mean, one of the main reasons you pick a private tour is for the personal attention, right? As a matter of fact, this is where our experience was really great.
