3. Discover the Îles de Lérins
The Îles de Lérins (that’s, like, the Lérins Islands to you and me) is, in short, actually a stone’s throw from Cannes itself and makes for a pretty great day trip. What makes these islands quite unique is how each one feels totally unique. Ile Sainte-Marguerite is, like, very well-known for the Fort Royal, formerly is, seemingly, the prison that once kept the “Man in the Iron Mask”. It’s also pretty full of hiking trails snaking basically through forests that often touch on the coast, that almost gives striking views.
Île Saint-Honorat that actually comes across as being noticeably smaller. As I was saying, that said, you’ll discover that it has the monastery that still runs today. Here, monks usually, naturally, grow grapes and also produce their wines and liqueurs. What can, definitely, be said is that visits which include, at the end of the day, tasting are possible and extremely good! That said, both islands have the charm that are, basically, ideal for those that love history, nature and a little peaceful relaxation.
