Cefalù Food Scene: Top 5 Spots You Gotta Try!
So, you are planning a trip to Cefalù, Sicily? That is absolutely brilliant! Apart from its stunning beach and impressive Norman cathedral, Cefalù has just a wonderful, you know, kinda special food scene that’s well worth exploring. From the freshest seafood that is pretty much straight out of the Mediterranean to amazing, rather good arancini, this Sicilian paradise has something to tempt everyone’s taste buds. Right, let’s have a look at what I’d recommend, it will be helpful if you want to make your visit unforgettable. You may well agree that is, actually, very, very important when one goes traveling!
1. Trattoria La Galleria: A Seafood Extravaganza
First on my list, well, it has to be Trattoria La Galleria, and actually this place is kinda perfect for seafood lovers. Located in a very nice, actually super quaint alleyway, this restaurant serves some fantastic dishes that are truly classic, you know? Think of plates loaded with tasty, extremely delicious grilled octopus, spaghetti alle vongole, or even the mixed fried seafood. As I was saying, the ambiance is very welcoming and super cozy, is that not great? The staff are almost, too it’s just brilliant at explaining the daily specials – often the day’s fresh catch. It’s kinda great!
My Recommendation: Try the “Spaghetti ai Ricci di Mare” – it is, just so yummy, spaghetti with sea urchin. This is, in some respects, very simple but actually elegant dish showcases the real, the amazing flavors of the sea. 2. Duomo Ristorante: Dining with a View
Next up is Duomo Ristorante, so this one is almost more about the views. Situated right in front of the iconic Cefalù Cathedral, so the location alone makes it a must-visit. The menu features kinda traditional Sicilian fare with a twist, yet I think, that is really a nice touch! So, from perfectly cooked pasta dishes to really good meat and fresh fish, you’ll definitely find something delicious. As a matter of fact, it tends to be amazing if you sit outside. Enjoying a meal with that majestic cathedral in sight? It is, arguably, pretty unforgettable.
My Recommendation: So, it would have to be “Filetto al pepe verde” – the fillet steak with green pepper sauce. Well prepared, just a little juicy, and the peppercorn sauce actually adds that really amazing touch! 3. Pasticceria Caprice: Sweet Sicilian Treats
Right, now for those with a sweet tooth? Well Pasticceria Caprice is, just a paradise, almost literally. I mean, so the bakery is, apparently, very well-known for their awesome, pretty wonderful pastries, and I will be telling you later what they can supply! And of course cakes too. It has cannoli filled with, arguably, that kinda sweet ricotta cheese, or how about cassata siciliana, just, a colorful sponge cake. You also have almond pastries and granita – all amazing. You’re able to start your morning just right here with just, a simple espresso, then, too, there’s a freshly baked cornetto.
My Recommendation: OK, here we go: The “Cannolo Siciliano”. I mean, so it is an iconic Sicilian pastry, and I just love that, that pastry shell filled with, arguably, just like sweet ricotta cheese is an absolute must-try! 4. Osteria del Duomo: Authentic Sicilian Flavors
Here’s a special one: So, if you want to experience authentic Sicilian cooking in just, a super relaxed setting, you could choose Osteria del Duomo. So, it tends to be popular among locals, yet tourists also find it very endearing and very endearing I feel. Also they are serving really nice hearty dishes kinda like pasta alla Norma, that is often made with eggplant, or involtini (rolled meat). You know what they are. This place, apparently, really showcases the warmth and genuineness of Sicilian hospitality.

5. Kentia al Trappitu: Pizza Paradise
Do you want pizza? Then Kentia al Trappitu should be one to explore too. In other words, if you really want a super laid-back meal with some fantastic pizzas, right? Here is my suggestion. Also the rustic atmosphere is pretty awesome, yet with an oven it means the flavors are pretty much traditional and are really quite yummy! The crust has got this wonderful crunchy texture. So it is baked in an ancient stone oven, often those guys only use very fresh ingredients for this place. And just a fantastic selection of pizzas and that should delight even the fussiest eaters!
My Recommendation: Pizza, but which one? It would probably be a “Pizza con funghi e salsiccia”. With these mushrooms and yummy, pretty wonderful sausage that actually gives that fantastic earthy flavour to a truly satisfying slice.
