You literally can’t miss it; the structure itself is a work of art with bright red walls, bread-like decorations, and enormous eggs on the roof. It’s obviously not your standard-issue art gallery. Stepping inside is a very, very full-on experience. It’s this massive, slightly chaotic collection of his paintings, sculptures, and installations that completely fills a former theater. You have the famous Mae West Room, which from the right angle, looks like the actress’s face, and the Rainy Taxi, a real car that has water spraying inside it. You know, having your guide there to explain some of the symbolism and the artist’s ideas is a huge help. Honestly, Dalí’s mind was a complex place, and getting a few pointers really lets you appreciate the genius, and the madness, of it all.
