Tepoztlán mountains

Tepoztlán, so mystical, calls from a mere hop, skip, and a jump away. What makes it stand out, more or less, could be the imposing Tepozteco Mountain overlooking it. Ascend, perhaps, and its temple, very steeped in local legend, greets you. A rewarding experience can happen once up top; think breathtaking panoramas!

The town center is also alive with activity. It’s pretty much dominated by artisanal markets and cozy restaurants. That’s somewhere where the area’s tastes really become a sensory delight. Sample local cuisine, buy handcrafts and a memento or two, just kind of absorb that captivating, bohemian atmosphere.

Make time to drop by the Ex Convento Dominico de la Natividad, typically known as the Tepoztlán Convent. This lovely old complex, showing a historic feel with art from long ago, that makes time stand still. It’s actually almost impossible to fully convey what something of great age offers anyone; this location is rather exceptional though.
