Dover Day Trips: Top 5 Unmissable Adventures

Dover Day Trips: Top 5 Unmissable Adventures

Dover Day Trips

Dover, very famous for its White Cliffs and busy port, actually serves as, well, a cracking starting point for lots of adventures. Like your jumping-off point is that it could be, and very likely should be so, for awesome day trips. Get this, so rather than only seeing Dover as the spot where you zoom through, that, you see it very differently. What’s that? Your base to discover the awesomeness around. What lies just around the corner.

1. Deal: Seaside Charm and History

Deal Kent

Deal, just a bit up the coast from Dover, is, like, a perfect seaside spot for, basically, a relaxed day away. I mean it’s got this brilliant combination of, what are they, historical stuff and coastal charm. Actually the main attraction, and rightly so in my opinion, might be Deal Castle, you know, one of those forts built by Henry VIII. Honestly, there are imposing circular defenses that provide a good glance into history.

Take this for instance, like once you’ve finished there, have this easy wander through Deal’s town. Actually the High Street there is bursting with independent shops, I think, some galleries, and what are those, oh yes, really quite lovely cafes. In fact, when your belly starts telling you it’s food time, you just have to get some grub from one of the traditional pubs or fish-and-chip joints.

Very very, as in incredibly, tasty. What’s also a must-do, just by the way, just so you know, is a relaxed walk along the beach. Maybe that one taking in Deal Pier. From the very end, you, like your looking for amazing views of the coastline and the English Channel too it’s almost awesome.

2. Canterbury: A City Steeped in History

Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury, in some respects world-famous, that is famous, especially thanks to Canterbury Cathedral. Arguably it’s the, it really is the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury. You get these awesome Gothic bits. Moreover that place is something so incredibly special to see. Did I say something special? Oh sorry, so extremely special.

Anyway once inside Canterbury, consider having a look at St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church, you see that both form part of a, you see it form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And frankly so really amazing, historically-important places right?

For something more present-day, why don’t you have a wander down Canterbury’s streets, like your streets packed out with shops and eateries that make up its unique charm. Or if you really want to make things just a bit more engaging, you, like your on the look out for a river tour on the River Stour, in that case expect different kinds of views and history being said right while you sit on the boat. If history’s not the only thing, perhaps it is, in that case Canterbury definitely offers all.

3. Sandwich: Medieval Marvel

Sandwich Kent

Sandwich, surprisingly it’s only a pretty quick trip up north from Dover. Just so you know, like it is actually very full of history with one of Britain’s best maintained medieval town centres in some respects.

Walk about this walled town. Seemingly just picture this while soaking in its atmosphere of yesteryear with your visits to the Guildhall Museum and the Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory actually. Don’t forget you know those very nice quays or the quite winding lanes as you’re looking around that you come across those, because it is very much filled with historical wonder right?

Now listen to this. This, I might be saying is probably one of Britain’s original ‘ Cinque Ports ’. In short, that place brags what some describe is one extremely significant history. As a matter of fact you should plan for a tranquil boat trip right on River Stour, it will be more than good as something to remember. It gives you what feels is another sort of angle about the local landscape very really. Or why don’t you even play golf that at one or, possibly, even many of the very highly rated courses? Sounds good does it? A real escape, in a way from city worries I mean, so that, in return will fill your heart.

4. White Cliffs of Dover: Coastal Beauty

White Cliffs of Dover

You know the White Cliffs of Dover! Extremely close to Dover by the way that. Now don’t laugh about this alright but there’s got to be one thing here, arguably something essential in some respects, just, just the cliffs.

That’s why I suggest going on walks near them, for this amazing scenery. Or simply for the unbeatable views right across English Channel. Also I think people rate these, there again the views will also stretch towards France usually at this point.

When getting back so maybe try what is called a South Foreland Lighthouse as there it is closeby. It tells one quite exciting story of this area here so, just in case you like a nice light house, that is. Actually in conclusion or simply put the Cliffs have quite striking, striking nature.

5. Folkestone: Artistic Vibe by the Sea

Folkestone Harbour Arm

For, let’s face it a dash of that current seaside vibe? I would recommend Folkestone I’m just saying. The Folkestone Harbour Arm might become a, what are those? Something pretty funky so this features bars as that faces cafes plus, honestly, great views. Pretty good really pretty good by the way and seemingly essential.

For people or simply that you are very interested about the local creative scene? And as well as perhaps what might even grab us the super creative area I have the suspicion this can only improve in the immediate future actually and even just maybe grow somewhat that.

Or just for me here it may, so in that scenario, seem right or sound right that you actually stroll about on the coast or along Lower Leas Coastal Park so if the sun actually happens to turn that day, so now I know for many a big decision has been decided in a worse way than perhaps deciding about a small coast location alright that can almost actually boast nature. Like for the rest the decision of if it sounds nice it also seemingly becomes obvious that you go very now now for goodness sake before one bad element such that this is a decision against.

Dover Day Trips Conclusion:

Dover could very very well give you just more than ports, and of course cliffs or the white type here right? But, seemingly a fair or great array to me, which that’s so for a fun place. So like I suggest go travel around.

  • Deal: Has that proper or really rather awesome or perfect and seaside feel.
  • Canterbury: So full of, what are those? Or might as well refer to that instead as historical brilliance.
  • Sandwich: An ideal time for going far so in return one could, just maybe relax around at a historic port, could this be.
  • White Cliffs: Actually striking with pretty awesome, truly striking what do I call them? Cliffs that face the sea and/ or what looks the sea type there actually that really.
  • Folkestone: In short or literally or at the end day day, very very artsy almost seemingly literally it sounds.
