2. Erie Maritime Museum and Flagship Niagara: Set Sail into History

Erie Maritime Museum and Flagship Niagara might be where you wanna go if you are into ships and naval history or just love a good story. Actually, the museum gives you information all about the War of 1812 and Erie’s part in it. It really paints a picture of what life was like back then.

The best part? Getting on the Flagship Niagara. That is more or less a real, honest-to-goodness tall ship which was vital during the Battle of Lake Erie. When you walk around the ship, it could be, at least a little, as though you have travelled back in time. The crew is usually there, too, very willing to tell you loads about the ship and its story. 3. Lake Erie Wine Country: A Taste of the Region

Wine lovers, very pay attention! Lake Erie Wine Country, which stretches out east of Erie, is sort of a scenic drive that includes a ton of wineries. It is typically a wonderful day out, especially if you wish to taste what the area offers and enjoy the countryside views.

4. Peek’n Peak Resort: Adventure in Any Season

5. Conneaut, Ohio: A Quaint Getaway

If you want something kinda more quiet and quaint, well then take a small drive west to Conneaut, Ohio. It has something like a small-town appeal but boasts of awesome spots. That’s mainly known for its railroad museum, which will have railfans totally fascinated with the large collection of trains and railway things.

Conneaut also sits on Lake Erie and brings another chance to enjoy the lake views and go beachcombing. Beachglass lovers? Conneaut brings rich opportunities! I guess it feels more isolated as it does not attract Presque Isle volumes of travelers, that’s awesome for someone wishing to avoid crowds. So the town center may have some cute little shops, plus restaurants with tasty, no-frills dishes; it does well for that relaxed, not extravagant day outing.

Actually, one of the huge happenings there would be D-Day Conneaut, which happens to be one gigantic reenactment of the Normandy landings of WWII.
