5. Commandaria: Cyprus’s Liquid Gold
Alright, let’s switch gears from food to drink, so now were going to mention the legendary Commandaria, that being Cyprus’s oldest wine. What it is that, it’s more or less a sweet dessert wine, that is often crafted from sun-dried grapes, and I think that it is often celebrated for its intense caramel, dried fruit, and that slight nutty note. It just has such depth. So, it might be that Famagusta’s near the Commandaria region, there being several local restaurants which clearly celebrate its wine based history.
