Grindelwald’s 5 Best Food & Drink Spots: A Delicious Guide

Grindelwald’s 5 Best Food & Drink Spots: A Delicious Guide

Grindelwald, it’s that Swiss village straight from a postcard, right? Think, towering Alps, maybe some quaint chalets, that sort of thing. You get hungry, I suppose, thinking about that fresh mountain air? Good thing is, Grindelwald’s got way more than just views. In fact, they have pretty impressive places to grab a bite and something tasty to drink. That being said, I’ve been there and have been around, so I can give you a rundown of five spots you really shouldn’t miss.

Grindelwald restaurants

1. Barry’s Restaurant: Swiss Comfort Food

So, Barry’s Restaurant, the vibe you get is incredibly homey, in a good way. Like if your Swiss grandma decided to open a restaurant, you know? You will see it is all about diving face-first into comforting, that quintessential Swiss food. You could try the fondue. Yes, the cheese fondue, super classic, tastes very good. I found it tastes even better after a long hike.

What I had, personally, I ate the Rösti there, this is essentially a potato pancake but with so much crispiness. And it hits differently when topped with some cheese and maybe a fried egg. They have pretty impressive portion sizes, like you would probably expect. Just come hungry. In some respects, it feels like they’re actually trying to fuel you up for hitting those slopes again.

2. Restaurant Bellevue: Views and Value

Restaurant Bellevue it is basically that spot where you grab your food and a view, together. Picture this: eating that local dish while overlooking, very big, mountains. I am saying the Eiger does look close enough to touch. Apparently, the food will always be yummy. It’s actually pretty hearty fare – imagine those plates of pasta and some traditional meat dishes. But really, people seem to go for that location. I suppose it’s romantic in a way.

It might be cool that the prices seem reasonable, for Switzerland that is. This could be something if you’re attempting to not blow out the budget but still want those photo-worthy lunch moments. Just try to grab a table outside if you can; the Alps kind of step things up in that dish of anything.

3. Onkel Tom’s Hütte: Cozy and Casual

OK, so Onkel Tom’s Hütte, what it does, it goes with that whole casual, you could say cozy, vibe, I think. It does appear more relaxed than some spots, like you see those families with kids just eating a really chill dinner. Is that even better? You will find yourself surrounded by wood, in a cozy kind of small room. Actually, you could be on the slopes all day and you kind of would probably just roll in there.

You might get things such as pizza, salads, or pasta, is that what you were after. It appears that everything will be pretty yummy and straightforward, nothing really intense. That pizza did hit the spot. Also, it will not empty your wallet, even though you are on vacation. Is that great? Overall, it’s somewhere to land when your legs ache but, yet you’re hungry.

4. C und M Cafe Bar Restaurant: Something for Everyone

C und M Cafe Bar Restaurant is where the mood kind of lightens up just a little, I think. You find some kind of extensive menu that seemingly includes all sorts of stuff. Sandwiches, the curries, they have like everything. That being said, they serve something a bit similar to something someone would probably order when unsure. So it looks as though if you are with people and someone wants Swiss food and another just wants a burger, you are set, you are very, very set.

I have no idea if someone has coffee there and I could recommend it. Though, what it does is create a more central hang out kind of a space. Basically it fits if you would prefer to keep things loose and you might want to grab pretty much any type of food you could dream of. In some respects, you just walk in and they seem to have it, is that correct? Very good food!

5. Grindelwald Terminal: Food on the Fly

Grindelwald Terminal might appear as though not necessarily a restaurant in the usual sit-down sort of way. But I can say if someone’s grabbing food as fast as humanly possible so they will be catching that next lift, that is where it’s going on, honestly. Obviously there is a big assortment. I would not say they had restaurants per se. What you might get is food, somewhere to be located if the objective actually is speed, in reality. It might have an impression like you’re going there to eat, it’s more, I suppose you’re fuelling.

On top of that, this also does well. Very well.
