Going deep in Highland history? Then don’t forget places such as the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. Actually, you get a real feeling here as it displays Highland life from way back. The place is, virtually, outside so there are buildings rebuilt from different periods. Often it has people showing you how Highland folk used to live and make crafts.
And so, also, thinking about a must-see, head for the Culloden Battlefield, right? Close to Inverness, it does take one back to where that Jacobite rising ended terribly. A bit tragic really! Is that the centre there with a display? Apparently so, plus a walk on the battlefield actually provides a great understanding concerning the significance of this historical day.

Now, fancy the amazing Highland traditional music. Often it gives that connection with culture and brings some great spirit and some human feeling. It would seem nearly every little town, like, has pubs there, actually. They seem to, sort of, offer such sessions where musicians assemble for doing some music. Always informal they often allow joining in. Try traditional music and the area has its life showing. Diddling too.

Highland Crafts: Visiting Local Artisans
Looking for something genuine out of the Highlands? Anyway you should go meet people making and doing local craftwork. A bit special. Often, Highland craftspeople use the past with bits out of nature to make, like, weavings, jewelry and pottery. Check around local craft centers but often even roadside small places show them.
Apparently the Isle of Skye actually is one spot holding many individual art people. Quite a lot seem to do items influenced using Skye landscape features. And then in places such as Caithness at the far north, look around there, too, where one finds items with a very northern feel using its local stone.

Lastly go see spots featuring stones used long before plus those old other spots. A lot concerning those parts connect into the region there using historical traditions as well. Actually visit these and they quite frequently stir thoughts to folks coming here ages back.
