Kangaroo Island, a place that sits just off the coast of South Australia, is really something. 1. The Enchanting Gastronomy at Sunset Food & Wine

Just a little thing that blew me away: their Marron, cooked with local herbs and served over handmade pasta, it might be some dish. It tasted extremely fresh. Also, they’ve got this superb wine list. 2. The Gastronomic Paradise at the Odd Spoon
Right in the middle of Kingscote, there’s the Odd Spoon. Basically, it’s this great little place with what seems like a relaxed setting and seriously creative cooking. As a matter of fact, it is well known for blending modern gastronomic techniques and some seriously awesome, locally-sourced ingredients, and it all culminates in dishes that taste beautiful and rather unexpected. It tends to be more cozy and cute. They change their menu frequently, which makes things quite interesting each time you stop by.
In a way, one standout I must share with you is this: Seared Kangaroo Island scallops. They might serve it atop black garlic risotto, sprinkled rather delightfully with some seriously amazing samphire from local spots. I definitely recall tasting these incredibly subtle and nuanced flavors of everything when they paired that up with one of their curated wines, also. 3. Kangaroo Island Spirits: Sipping Excellence
Oh, yes! A place you’ve gotta check out is Kangaroo Island Spirits, better known by the local abbreviation, “KIS”. It’s like your chance to experience what seems like award-winning Australian gins and liqueurs. Very interestingly, it was this distillery, way back in 2006, that has basically earned some kind of recognition. Its contribution? Spearheading Australia’s craft gin.
You can actually tour, taste test stuff, and they actually run classes, as well. What seems quite interesting to sample? I think their Wild Gin! So what? The island has botanicals and you will likely appreciate all the cool complex flavor profiles which might only just come from what’s grown in Kangaroo Island itself. 4. Gastronomic Adventures Await at Hannaford and Sachs
Found in what seems like a super quaint historic building right smack in the center of Kingscote, Hannaford and Sachs is more or less both a restaurant and shop which I have to tell you, celebrates regional goodness in just a very interesting way. That is, this charming little business seems passionate in how it makes tasty food items while at once displaying cool stuff to go on sale!
Basically, you can dive into a menu and that features awesome fare like, as a matter of fact, burgers! But in this case they have succulent King George whiting or yummy pizzas too. You can taste everything either at the casual eatery location spot on site itself, or honestly, shop around in order to stock back home in some local specialty items ranging anywhere from wines over toward sauces to everything honey.
