Manitoba’s Top 5 Food & Drink Spots: A Delicious Review
Manitoba, a place that’s almost the heart of Canada, has such a fantastic food scene, that it has something for everyone, I feel. It’s very much more than just prairies and wheat fields; Manitoba packs a serious punch when it relates to seriously tasty eats and drinks. This province, rich in culture and bursting with local talent, boasts places to eat that might be well worth checking out for both foodies and anyone looking for something really wonderful to munch on. Ready to find some new favorite restaurants? Okay, let’s get to it!
1. Deer + Almond: Winnipeg’s Culinary Playground
First off, let’s talk Deer + Almond. It is one of those places in Winnipeg that actually seems to buzz with excitement. Very much located in the Exchange District, this place is really almost like an artistic food experiment going on, always pushing what tastes they create. It is ran by Chef Mandel Hitzer. The feel you get in the room? It might be described as “cool and laid-back”. What do I really love? He is known to put guest chefs in his rotation every so often so you see food being turned into new creations.
Their menu is more or less about sharing plates, a real treat for groups wanting to try loads of dishes, you know? Talking of the grub, expect combinations that might just make your jaw drop – believe me. Things that are seasonal and foraged come together really lovely on each plate. Dishes, they tend to be flavorful, inventive, and totally unforgettable. In a way, I’m talking about duck fat fried potatoes served up alongside bison tartare. You got it!
If you visit, maybe consider grabbing yourself a seat at the chef’s table if that option comes to mind? By the way, it gives you such a fantastic view into the kitchen. The bartenders mix up super tasty cocktails with ingredients which come right from local gardens, too it’s almost insane how they do this. Deer + Almond, it really feels like more than only a restaurant, it could be seen as Winnipeg’s foodie imagination destination. I’d really suggest trying the blind tasting menu with wine pairings as an option that is there to have if your appetite suits it!

2. Clementine: A Brunch Paradise
Right, so Clementine is where all the cool people go, apparently. Seriously, this area known as Winnipeg’s Exchange District might just be your new home away from home; it really has got this rustic, cozy feel with its tin ceilings and bright atmosphere that hits home as soon as you enter it! However, there might be a bit of a queue but just consider how awesome all of their menu is!
When you look at the food, get ready for twists on your breakfast that might just surprise you, as a matter of fact! They use things like their poached eggs in a way nobody really has ever done and include short rib poutine for that extra wow factor which most visitors actually love when visiting Clementine. Basically, Clementine’s main intention seems to really show what can occur in a modern, city-based brunch location.
This may just be the real home of killer sandwiches – and you actually do wanna order some. That said, they do a great breakfast burrito as well! Okay, anyway let’s have a think about drinks; so maybe think of it as having a Mimosa or a really good coffee made to order. I think a nice tasty cocktail goes down really lovely in such a busy place, as you might expect! So be sure you visit for yourself – what is there to lose, anyway? Arrive early or be super late – it’s really up to you but prepare yourself for huge, but pleasant, crowds.

3. Segovia Tapas Bar & Restaurant: Spanish Flavors in Winnipeg
Do you have any strong opinions on great tasty tapas from overseas, yeah? It’s so cool to try. Very much situated in Winnipeg’s Little Italy, Segovia Tapas Bar & Restaurant captures those vibrant Spanish flavors in a way I can really only say that’s awesome.
Here we go then, you order lots of tasty small dishes so everybody is happy and has lots of nice tasting food. You may like pan-fried mushrooms as one of your items you have in your tapas. Order up albondigas, that is always super great with most foodies if they are into experiencing new cultures, by the way.
Its menu just feels modern when you look through it. Segovia also has awesome service so that means the night feels perfect for a celebration! They give an actual relaxed setting, right so expect your tapas night out to feel all that nice and smooth. Don’t get too worried about it.

4. The Forks Market: A Hub of Manitoba’s Best
Fancy somewhere that has food of almost all shapes and sizes under only one roof? So think The Forks Market is it really. Actually it’s more of a historical location rather than a foodie hotspot because it actually showcases a lot of Manitoba culture. This destination actually is at the meeting spot between Red and Assiniboine Rivers and shows what is now so vibrant in Winnipeg food culture.
The main market building comes loaded with independent vendors so that they may produce new foods on their terms – and on their hours. Whatever the need that is calling your name I know something nice is going to meet your expectation at The Forks; I genuinely trust in that! Have a burger? Yep, sure can. How about something even more overseas maybe, so then order tasty pastries plus great coffee.
Besides this place I found what really felt great too; so expect shopping that is crafted with real talent; expect views which bring warmth to your heart with some tasty ice creams.
So really that goes without having said in my expert point of view you’re just getting to see this very well but also sampling delicious cuisines. Don’t just view this as a tourist trap – you might just see some true new eats and drinks at a fair offer.
