Mission Beach Eats: Top 5 Food & Drink Spots You Can’t Miss
Mission Beach, you know, with its sun-soaked boardwalk and that, pretty much endlessly crashing waves, is actually not just a paradise for beachgoers, yet is too it’s something of a hot spot for some seriously good eats. So, after countless hours spent “researching” (tough gig, honestly!), I’ve sort of rounded up the top 5 places that you pretty much simply shouldn’t skip on your next jaunt to this classic San Diego locale. Basically, these spots offer not just nourishment, but real tastes of the beach life itself, very truly each offering something just a bit different.
1. The Taco Surf Mission Beach: Catching Waves & Great Grub
Taco Surf, arguably more of a landmark than merely somewhere that just serves up tasty food, totally captures the very spirit of Mission Beach. You see, plastered with surfboards and memorabilia, stepping inside very much feels, just a bit, like being transported to that surfer’s paradise you may or may not imagine. That, so the vibe here is as awesome as the food, or very near to it. So, it’s almost that you’re not really just getting tacos; you’re kind of soaking in the entire culture.
Speaking of tacos, these, it’s like your regular street taco deal. They, more or less, kind of boast an authentic, homemade flavor you might love, totally crafted with just those fresh ingredients. But what basically actually sets Taco Surf slightly apart from that, might be that fish taco. Oh man, I mean the batter is just perfectly crispy, or more like pretty perfectly crispy, and the fish is generally incredibly flaky. So, when you go, and I really recommend this, go with that Baja sauce…you will actually find pure joy. And, hey, if tacos seemingly aren’t your thing, well that, is pretty unusual considering where you’re at, their burritos are also very worthy, as a matter of fact it’s worth writing home about, almost.
That, yet the best part is, if you ask me, it really might be that you’re close enough to hear the waves basically as you eat. I mean, that’s kinda ideal. After grabbing a meal, it’s pretty simple just to stroll across the street to Mission Beach. It’s pretty special, and in the same way a very lovely combination – sun, surf, and super tacos, usually.

2. Belmonty’s Burgers: Where the Patties are Flippin’ Awesome
Now, that said, if you’re like, hankering after a burger, a real American burger, while by the beach, well then Belmonty’s Burgers is absolutely the place where it’s at. This joint just a little oozes, in a way, casual charm and generally serves up some patties so delicious, that they really might make you weep (but hopefully not right onto your burger…you kinda need that!). That, so Belmonty’s really nails it when it’s related to straightforward, that tasty, done-right food. You’re getting the vibe, I think?
The burger selection just might be, slightly more limited, I should note, than other spots, but that’s almost what’s so special. They basically are kind of dialed in everything with some serious precision. I, in fact, typically lean more towards Belmonty’s Classic Burger: very juicy patty, or fairly juicy patty, that’s, very appropriately, seasoned, topped by a rather melty cheese, crisp lettuce, fresh tomatoes, and their very own secret sauce. So, really, it is everything a burger needs and pretty nothing it doesn’t. It has got it where it needs it.
Don’t generally pass on getting their crispy fries and something thick milkshake alongside it either. Those basically, basically, complete that meal. That’s, so it’s perfect after a bout of that volleyball or, clearly, simply chilling out on the beach. You know, a thing you might well do while there.

3. Miss B’s Coconut Club: A Caribbean Escape in San Diego
Craving that get away without actually really leaving that zip code? I actually might suggest Miss B’s Coconut Club. I mean it’s practically just bringing those very island vibes right into Mission Beach, something you don’t come across too often! That, with that, is arguably with its brightly colored décor, or quite brightly colored décor, a very relaxed atmosphere, I really think it’s an instant escape. I actually really want a cocktail just writing about it…
Their cocktail list is not even a little bit extensive, and basically centers round a whole heap of some just very tropical ingredients, yet are almost carefully thought-out recipes. 4. Draft South Mission: Brews With A View (That’s Totally Worth It!)
Now that, really might be where that spectacular views and very solid brews, you know, actually meet…we’re basically chatting about Draft South Mission. Basically, this spot almost might not really just be your go-to, your pretty normal place for some good beer; basically it’s practically also a location to have, or literally feel like having, that whole experience with one killer beach background. Just imagine kicking back on a kinda sunny afternoon with, really or literally an icy beer just gazing at all that pacific.
