So, you want to know where the good eats are in Olympia, Washington, right? Well, as someone who’s spent a fair amount of time exploring the local food scene, I can definitely point you in the direction of some truly fantastic spots. Olympia, it seems, offers a pretty cool mix of restaurants and bars, from spots with a comfortable vibe to places where you can find dishes that will make you think. I’m pretty excited to share with you my top five places; spots that, in a way, represent the heart of Olympia’s culinary offerings. Let’s get started!
1. The Oyster Bar: A Taste of the Puget Sound
If you appreciate seafood, and especially if you enjoy fresh oysters, then The Oyster Bar really should be right at the top of your list. Actually, situated with a stunning view of the Puget Sound, this restaurant provides not only a meal, you know, but a whole experience. I can still remember my first visit there, really, watching the sunset as I savored some of the most delicious oysters I’ve ever had, actually. It’s just that kind of place.
Their menu tends to highlight the best of the Pacific Northwest, including, naturally, a wide selection of oysters from nearby farms, more or less. You’ll also find dishes featuring local fish, crab, and other seasonal ingredients. 2. Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar: Farm-to-Table Freshness
Located right in downtown Olympia, Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar stands out for its commitment to farm-to-table dining. Is that they grow their own oysters and, I think, source many of their ingredients locally, guaranteeing that everything on your plate is about as fresh as it can get. Really it’s perfect when your in need of a quick refreshment.
The atmosphere here is kind of laid-back and welcoming, making it a very great spot for both casual lunches and relaxed dinners, too. Seemingly you can sit at the bar and watch the staff shuck oysters, or snag a table and enjoy a full meal. In my view, it really encapsulates the true spirit of the region, really.

3. The Parkside Cafe: Breakfast, Brunch, and Beyond
So, if you are seeking a great spot for breakfast or brunch, The Parkside Cafe very nearly always seems to be a popular choice among locals, actually. As a matter of fact their menu offers a variety of dishes, from classic breakfast fare to creative sandwiches and salads. Seemingly it can get very busy on weekend mornings, really; that, you know, tells you something about how good it is.
What I enjoy most about The Parkside Cafe, more or less, is its kind of homey atmosphere, actually. The staff are pretty friendly, and you’ll frequently see people catching up with friends over coffee and a bite to eat. I’d say it’s a solid spot to just kind of take your time and enjoy the moment, honestly.

4. Budd Bay Cafe: Waterfront Dining with a View
Alright, so, with its stunning waterfront location, Budd Bay Cafe basically offers diners fantastic views of Budd Inlet, and it feels like it adds something to the eating experience. I often think they really focus on seafood, but you will too find steaks, pasta, and other options to choose from; and then you can take in the scenery.
The restaurant is reasonably spacious, with big windows that are basically good for natural light and a lively atmosphere. I very remember having dinner here with my family and thoroughly enjoying both the food and the views, frankly. So that you want to be here.

5. Well 80 Brewhouse: Local Craft Beer and Comfort Food
And if you’re a beer lover, then Well 80 Brewhouse just about should be on your radar. Apparently they brew their own beer on-site. Really that offers a selection of styles. Also it means you’re bound to find something that suits your tastes.
What makes it what it is is not only the beer, you know, but also their menu of comfort food, arguably. They, I find, have burgers and sandwiches and pub fare to compliment those tasty brews. I think it really makes it what it is – you know.
