Sanssouci Park: A Stroll Through Royal Grandeur

Sanssouci Park Germany

Sanssouci Park is really the superstar attraction in Potsdam, and many folks are drawn here. That park is, in some respects, massive—we’re talking nearly 700 acres of sculpted gardens, glittering fountains, and jaw-dropping architecture. It’s very tough to be in a bad mood in Sanssouci. The main attraction there is the Sanssouci Palace, which might be a summer hangout spot of Frederick the Great. Then again, the whole park is almost like an artwork itself, featuring eye-catching features at pretty much every turn. Seriously. Get totally lost among the perfectly kept lawns or maybe admire the vineyard terraces that look like they’re taken straight out of Tuscany. One of my favorite parts? The Chinese House, it feels very different from everything else and provides a perfect spot for some sweet pictures. Seriously, walking around feels a bit like stepping back in time. If you appreciate history and are into just leisurely wanders, then put Sanssouci Park at the top of your “must-see” list.
