Obviously, the main thing to see in Ptuj is the castle that sits up on the hill. Ptuj Castle offers some absolutely incredible views over the whole town and the river below. Inside, there’s a really interesting museum with collections of weapons, furniture, and stuff. One part is dedicated to the famous local carnival, Kurentovanje. This festival features these fuzzy, demon-like figures called Kurenti, who are supposed to chase away winter. You will learn all about this very unique tradition, which is a big part of the town’s identity. Frankly, just walking through the old town, past the Dominican and Minorite monasteries, is an experience in itself.

The Heart of Styria: Slovenia’s Winding Wine Road

Alright, so after you’ve soaked up all that city history, the tour takes a very relaxing turn. You start driving along the Slovenian wine road. Honestly, the drive itself is a huge part of the fun.
