5. Forte de Santiago

So this is, so it’s almost, that historical landmark and cultural site, in a way, so the Santiago Fort gives visitors this really awesome peep at Portugal’s history with really stellar coastal views. When they get here. Now, it is true that construction kicked off around the 17th century; as a matter of fact it sits on the shores right near the old harbor and still oozes some old-time charm; okay, so its presence has provided plenty in terms of past protection in the harbor.
