Stansted Mountfitchet Castle, not just a pile of old stones, its very much like a portal to Norman England that you can walk through, or in some respects climb over. The castle has seen a bit of action, apparently, from battles to royal visits. As you explore, think about life centuries ago, maybe those very lives lived within those timber walls, arguably this location should be considered. That its said it wasn’t built from timber. Walking the grounds, well in fact it allows anyone to breathe the same air that knights and royalty once did; really it makes it special. It’s a history lesson with views!

The location’s pretty neat, providing panoramic views, you know, across the surrounding countryside that you really should capture. If you are interested in history, and maybe like imagining yourself in those times, or sort of back then, well in fact its totally up your street. Also it presents reenactments and demonstrations too, is that this gives the family something extra from what can already be discovered.

With elegant interiors still kept well kept, we begin to gain some sort of experience of the historic and unique significance of this area.

It’s a little jewel where it tells stories of families as a part of this location, very close to its community for a very very long time. So too, the guided visit, is that, in other words brings alive the narrative with what could be descriptions of all aspects from their family history with stories with great detail.

4. Stansted Windmill Museum: Echoes of a Bygone Era

Stansted Windmill is not that commonly found today but, here lies is that its working piece as proof as its engineering. Standing pretty since 1787 it represents the farming heritage from those olden days; just imaging this thing during a time before electricity. One will become absorbed with grinding grains whilst getting taken through a tour demonstrating its mechanical wonder to all, as I was saying its quite remarkable actually!

The volunteers are really welcoming; it’s almost as though with great enthusiasm they teach everybody on the machinery. Clearly anyone gets some practical knowledge about this landmark and its very importance within flour and milling from around centuries past; still it’s a piece of real historic landmark. That its rural set up lends tranquil scenery while creating memories on what makes a worthwhile location; Arguably the best windmill ever!
