Top 5 Barrie Full-Day Tours: Your Ultimate Guide
Planning a full day out from Barrie? Well, you’ve come to just the right place! Barrie, which is really a gateway to some of Ontario’s prettiest landscapes and attractions, has all kinds of cool stuff waiting to be explored. From sparkling waters to historical sites, I want to help pick out some tours which can make your day seriously special. Here, I’m sharing a short run-down of what I think are five top full-day tours you might like from Barrie, so, you get to experience a good bunch of what this beautiful area has to offer.
1. Scenic Boat Tour of Lake Simcoe
Lake Simcoe is really quite an amazing spot. So, going for a boat tour here, it’s almost a no-brainer! These tours, I’d say they often last around three to four hours, typically give you, like your, the loveliest views of the lake’s stunning shoreline, not to mention, you know, some gorgeous islands and inlets. 2. Historic Orillia & Stephen Leacock Museum
How about spending a day looking at Orillia and maybe its really very special Stephen Leacock Museum? Orillia, well it’s got a great story behind it and has all kinds of lovely places to check out. To me, a major stop is the Stephen Leacock Museum, which used to be where this Canadian humorist lived. It is actually fascinating to check out his house, walk through all the lovely gardens, and listen to tales about his very interesting life and times. These sorts of tours, typically the really good ones I think, also, they include stops in downtown Orillia. This allows you a little time to check out the unique shops, perhaps find a spot for lunch along the water, too it’s almost impossible to not enjoy!
Don’t Miss: Remember, the Leacock Museum really gives you a look into Canadian literary history. When you are in the main part of Orillia, stroll along the waterfront and appreciate the public art around the town. Basically, it is a real cultural experience that’s so very cool to discover.

3. Wasaga Beach & Collingwood Adventure
Do you like both relaxing at the beach, and checking out interesting towns? I mean, who doesn’t! Wasaga Beach and Collingwood really are only, like your, a short drive from Barrie. This makes them fantastic spots for, I want to say, a full-day excursion. At Wasaga Beach, which just so happens to be the longest freshwater beach right in the world, you can simply relax on the sand, you know, do some swimming, or, still, take a nice leisurely walk down the boardwalk. Collingwood, it’s very pretty; you might find that it provides a unique downtown area just to browse, including a cool view looking over the Georgian Bay. I always find that a perfect day would probably include something like brunch at a local cafe after that checking out some shops, followed by, still, driving up to see the gorgeous scenery at the nearby Scandinave Spa for the views and a quick detox!
Good to Know: In Wasaga, it’s very useful to carry your beach stuff as well as sunscreen. You might, too it’s almost certain, want to spend a bit longer at the beach. Oh, and when visiting Collingwood, you need comfortable walking shoes that you can just wear and explore for ages and ages.

Alright, for the ones out there that I would say just absolutely love being outdoors, what you really could do is check out a day up at Blue Mountains. You’ll get something of a workout doing all the walking and climbing! Take a look, as an example, at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures, you know, because it features something that is pretty spectacular; caves that you may be able to just squeeze through along with that cool suspension bridge, that offers some quite wonderful views right over Georgian Bay. Very arguably, after your, like your, adventure walking down below, I think it’s really a smart plan to grab lunch down at Blue Mountain Village, so, you’re taking in its charming European-like feel. Actually, a visit to the Blue Mountains is an outstanding plan to, still, spend time being active in some gorgeous scenery.
Insider Tip: Alright, definitely remember some comfortable shoes that you can wear, because the area, which is almost certain to contain uneven trails and surfaces, will have you wanting to take some pretty long and slow walks. I find it really cool when I spend a whole day sampling craft beer and cider right in Simcoe County, so, you find new flavors of the best sorts. I am often happy to say that many tours just feature the inside story; this very nearly includes speaking to the brewers right there and afterward understanding the whole brewing idea better.
