Just a little drive up the coast from Benidorm sits Altea, yet very is quite different. Basically, Altea has kept some, kind of original old-world character. It’s hard not to like. So, when you show up, get lost kind of wandering all over, just really enjoying those pretty, little whitewashed buildings all covered in bougainvillea. They almost look unreal, which is something that may or may not interest you! You will climb your way to the top of the Church of Our Lady of Consolation, also known as “La Mare de Déu del Consol” by those who are local. It has those, just kinda striking blue-tiled domes, offering up views that could make your jaw drop.

You really should browse some small little shops where local artists actually sell their wares. Actually, if you want unique ceramics or paintings or whatever, this place basically lets you take a little bit of Altea home with you. It has restaurants, of course, like by the waterfront, and the fish, that’s worth grabbing, that is actually from that local sea, there. In some respects, you can have a paella with just about any restaurant you come across that basically is right on the beach. How neat is that? I would take in the environment.
