1. Surfing and Windsurfing at Coronation Beach

Coronation Beach windsurfing

Coronation Beach, out there, is that kind of windsurfer’s, sort of, paradise, but it also, arguably, tends to be very awesome for surfing, too. You see, that constant sea breeze there, really whips across the water creating what people call like, world-class conditions, in a way, if you want to tear it up on the waves. What is even cooler, that beach is also totally pretty, you know, with blindingly white sands, those clear turquoise waters, I mean, just fantastic! I swear. Even just hanging out there to chill is, seemingly, a very good way to spend some time, seriously.

But OK, picture this. The conditions usually tend to be better suited, just a little bit, to, arguably, experienced windsurfers. Still, that is not saying beginners can’t give it a go, honestly. And if you tend to be new to windsurfing or surfing, anyway, there actually happen to be schools right in Geraldton, I tell you, that teach you the ropes, actually, so you could find your feet out there in the surf, honestly. Then there are equipment hire places too it’s almost a sure thing you will have everything you really need, there, ready, I bet.

OK, if you’re kind of, just a little, into nature and hiking, Kalbarri National Park is just that perfect day trip from Geraldton, honestly. Just over a 90-minute drive and it has the best of that Aussie outback charm. We can explore what’s it called? Dramatic river gorges, those sandstone cliffs and of course those really beautiful wildflowers. Which do you know are only there for particular months? Did you know?

Also The park features many of these walking tracks from a doddle to things to tire the best walker, frankly. Of course there are super famous spots like Nature’s Window a natural arch which of course we need to snap. And, arguably, anyway, there are the Z Bend lookout that offers what people claim are, actually, incredible views of the Murchison River gorge. Abrolhos Islands diving

You will only believe it when you are out there on this seriously exclusive island spot with 122 little isles sitting far away from Geraldton, which really do burst with amazing wildlife, as a matter of fact. Getting there only happens via tour because getting there can be awkward so be aware. The other cool option tends to be going in a cruise style too, in some respects, although you might feel restricted, OK?

It is so cool to go snorkelling here because you actually can see loads of little fish, OK. Also, diving down there, is seemingly, wonderful. Apparently, those coral gardens will leave you totally in shock with those amazing and wonderful colours, too. Not only are the wildlife fantastic but just think all that island culture right there which should really bring something to that trip, too.

Greenough River Mouth fishing

What is awesome is this quiet little place up there in Geraldton is totally a sweet spot, or so some people might say, to, arguably, throw in a line. You see it has great beaches which are there on all sides. The cool part is how calm the mouth tends to be, pretty much making it awesome for that casual fish person or those guys looking to have kids in their party, even though, those adults also will like it.

Oh, and you’ll get awesome bites when you try getting that tailor, of course bream or maybe whiting – all super cool local Aussie fish to catch. The beach offers up fishing there and then down at the rocks. Very good if you wanted a pretty challenging kind of fishing trip at the mouth.

5. Stargazing at Ellendale Pool

Stargazing Ellendale Pool

So here is what I reckon is like something extremely cool to see after all that surfing! If there’s the occasion to explore something at the edge of town you want to stop here. It’s not too busy from Geraldton as a bit of a drive, which is why some visitors go straight to the place, right?

This spot tends to be pretty cool during the daytime though that’s probably not why people would head there if you tend to ask me, though. Why visitors rock on, seemingly, up there, pretty much comes down to gazing up at the, really, magnificent stars in the night. Basically it’s like there aren’t any lights near that pool and people go to watch that clear as day view right from there. Which would happen because of an Indigenous dream story in the area and if you’re lucky, possibly, might see all types of wildlife right near that water hole area.
