2. Gourdon: Soaring Views from One of France’s “Most Beautiful Villages”

Gourdon is just another village practically screaming to be visited. The fact that it is tagged as one of “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” – the Most Beautiful Villages of France, seems, anyway, fairly enough said, doesn’t it? Perched dramatically on a rocky spur, so this medieval village looks over the Loup valley, offering wide vistas that will cause you to release an “Ooh la la!”. Gourdon has a smaller population, with quieter, relaxed feels, compared to the tourist center spots.

Spend your time wandering along narrow cobbled streets, examining ancient houses clad with ivy. It’s almost picture-postcard material wherever you look. A lot of the buildings are now studios and artisan workshops, in some respects, but you can pick up something really special to take home with you, actually.

3. Saint-Paul-de-Vence: Art, Ramparts, and Views

Saint-Paul-de-Vence is just a name which may strike a chord with any art lovers, really. For good reason! You know, this beautifully preserved medieval village, encircled by ramparts, is home to loads of art galleries and studios, and of course lots of spots to dine. Walking within its aged walls feels, frankly, like strolling through a living museum. That being the case, every turn provides some sort of artistic work, or stunning scenery.

You know, The Fondation Maeght is one such example that holds any serious art collection a short distance from the village centre. Any fans of modern and contemporary art shouldn’t miss it. Work from the names like Chagall, Miró, and Giacometti make the detour beyond the village itself more than worth the effort.

Yet, Saint-Paul-de-Vence offers a bit extra than purely just art. The panoramic views which you see spread along the sea are utterly superb. 4. Antibes: Coast, Culture and so Much Choice in a Town

So, are you getting that urge to head coastal for a bit? So, in some respects, Antibes really should work then. Being an active harbor community with a pleasing blend of old-town appeal with newer attractions.
