Right at the northern tip of the island sits the Butt of Lewis, well it is somewhere I reckon is amazing for any keen hiker. This area, with its dramatic cliffs and that lighthouse that stands proud, tends to offer some truly awesome views of the Atlantic. Usually, the hike follows the coastal path, so it winds along the headland. So, expect some absolutely fantastic scenery. This place feels kind of remote, yet also incredibly special. 2. Exploring Luskentyre Sands

Luskentyre Sands often gets talked about. Well, for good reason. Its white sands and those clear turquoise waters certainly look more Caribbean than Scottish! The circle that it creates, very almost makes you think how important this spot could be for the Neolithic people. Arguably, it predates Stonehenge and the place does have an atmospheric quality all of its own, that almost any visitor can pick up. Actually, walking around these stones makes you feel kind of connected with the island’s far-off past. I’d recommend finding a guided tour that teaches you more. 4. Spotting Wildlife at Tiumpan Head

Anyway, if you have any interest in wildlife, then you need to swing by Tiumpan Head. Usually, this headland offers like great opportunities for some like birdwatching.
