Top 5 Jasper Tickets: A Visitor’s Companion to the Best of the Rockies

Jasper National Park Entrance Pass

Thinking about checking out Jasper National Park? Well, it’s almost a must if you like unreal mountain scenery and the thought of possibly running into some cool wildlife. That said, planning your trip sometimes involves figuring out which tickets or passes will get you the most bang for your buck, so to speak. We are going to look at the five top options available that will, in a way, provide some adventure out there.

1. Jasper National Park Entrance Pass: Pretty much a baseline

Jasper National Park entrance

First, very first, is the Jasper National Park Entrance Pass. Think of that like the key to basically, nearly everything. Want to hike trails, drive the scenic Icefields Parkway, or simply hang around any of the park’s public areas? Then you, too, will need this pass. What’s kinda neat is that you can get one that covers everyone in your vehicle if you are riding with people, or an individual pass if you are tooling around solo. Now, these are available as day passes, but arguably, a yearly pass might be just a little better of a move if you figure on visiting several times.

What it Includes: Park access for designated time (daily or annual). You also get access to things like trails and basic facilities.

Why it’s a solid choice: The affordability is pretty fair if you’re sticking around. Daily passes let you explore on the spur of the moment, but the annual pass tends to be pretty smart if you will be back for more later in the year.

A little something extra: So, actually, keep your eyes open for those “free entry days” which are sometimes announced by Parks Canada; this could change from year to year, too.

2. The Jasper SkyTram: Views From Way Up High

Jasper SkyTram Ticket

Okay, how about a ride to the top of Whistler’s Mountain without much of a sweat? Arguably, the Jasper SkyTram lifts you way, way up to almost 7,500 feet, for views that will totally make your social media light up. As I was saying, it is Canada’s highest and longest guided aerial tramway. You could see six mountain ranges; too, you can check out a restaurant, so make the most of it all there.

What it includes: You can do round-trip rides on the SkyTram and pretty insane panoramic views.

Why it’s a solid choice: It’s great for everyone since no heavy-duty hiking skills are needed. You get killer views practically instantly and you can just see as much nature as possible.

A little something extra: See what special events may be coming up at the summit such as interpretive tours or even stargazing nights if the timing is right and it is safe.

3. Maligne Lake Cruise: Boat Tour with Spirit Island Vibes

Maligne Lake Cruise

Take it real easy with a cruise around Maligne Lake and let me tell you it is really some picturesque stuff. Like your destination is Spirit Island, what many folks say is one of the most photographed places right in the Canadian Rockies. As a matter of fact, it will give you opportunities for both photographs and for being outdoors without straining much physically. It is an exceptional opportunity for anyone wanting comfort blended with beauty.

What it includes: A boat trip down to Spirit Island plus a tour guide to keep you entertained and give details about the lake’s past and the surrounding mountains.

Why it’s a solid choice: Well, pretty much everyone could enjoy it. Taking a boat to that Spirit Island, too, gives amazing viewpoints you could not get just anywhere.

A little something extra: As I was saying, keep the weather forecast in mind, so dress in many layers. The lake air gets chilly just a little bit even on basically a day with average warmth, really.

4. Columbia Icefield Adventure: Get onto a Glacier

Columbia Icefield Adventure

Fancy getting on an actual glacier? Actually, that is, as a matter of fact, something that the Columbia Icefield Adventure gives you. It involves traveling on the specially created Ice Explorer vehicle right onto the Athabasca Glacier. Very possibly, walking on glacier ice which formed many lifetimes ago could give someone new perspectives and a greater appreciation for how large the planet is, or tends to be anyway.

What it includes: Glacier exploring, Ice Explorer bus ride, and admittance just a little bit away to the Glacier Skywalk too (which will dangle you over a cliff).

Why it’s a solid choice: This is more than just views, though—it’s being a part of something impressively geologic, for anyone.

A little something extra: They give you times of tours quite often, however booking well ahead may give more choices for your dates too.

It could almost seem to be quite some fantastic way to let muscles ease and really enjoy some Rocky Mountain scenery too; in fact, they may soothe more than muscles too.

What it includes: It may almost sound idyllic –access to the pools in the springs. Plus, nearby hiking trails should anyone be up for exploring nearby mountains later.

Why it’s a solid choice: Well, pretty much a perfect way for your body to recuperate post several physical days.
