Are you a driver that likes to maybe tackle the dramatic? The Honister Pass drive just might be that exciting experience, so to speak. Many rate the views up here pretty highly. You get to have this intense, yet in some respects, picturesque drive. The narrow, twisting roads possibly will make you focus, yet what a view for you, you know, when you stop and gaze out, that is? At the summit there tends to be the Honister Slate Mine. You can, like your chances, perhaps, stop here to possibly do some mining history exploration or to buy something nice made out of slate.

3. Castlerigg Stone Circle and Thirlmere

That blend that is sightseeing along with history is, of course, offered on the tour incorporating Castlerigg Stone Circle, which goes onward to Thirlmere. At first, Castlerigg just sort of sits there, its circle so old. What a pretty grand panoramic outlook. Then, you continue driving toward Thirlmere, really. Going to Buttermere alongside Crummock Water, actually, kind of makes for a pleasant trip; seemingly, both happen to be calm beauties. Between Keswick to Buttermere there appears to be some lovely scenery. These fells kind of go straight right to, also, the water, too it’s almost, very nice to observe, I must say. Crummock Water, actually, just nearby, continues the display, seems that it’s, almost, untouched a bit. 5. Ullswater via A591 and Kirkstone Pass

Taking the A591 with the addition of, also, Kirkstone Pass just to get right into Ullswater, you know, combines a ride right across some views alongside, arguably, one challenge! That scenic drive via A591 shows just views. As you begin heading up over to Kirkstone Pass, the mountain views are even, seemingly, more extensive; actually, some stretches may seem rather steep, in fact. So arriving over at Ullswater feels so rewarding; the lake spreads that calm out to us who look there; it’s possibly very magical actually, for people in that particular view!
