Nîmes, often called the “French Rome,” makes it very, very easy to use as a solid base to see so much of Provence. 2. Uzès: The Very First Duchy of France

Particularly on market days which has the smells of local produce and flowers floating all around, so it’s a blast to visit. You may want to sample some local goods, if you get the chance.
