They’re very cool ways to get a quick, intense blast of everything that makes NOLA, well, NOLA. From the history to the grub, you’ll almost certainly find something to love on one of these outings.

French Quarter Walking Tour

French Quarter Walking Tour

If there is something you should know it’s that the French Quarter is truly the heart and soul of New Orleans. It’s just so brimming with character, architecture that’s a bit old and awesome, and tons of stories, right? A walking tour very will get you right up close and personal with all of that. That is because, that, you get to wander down those little streets, maybe stopping to peep at some street performers, and really feeling that vibe. Typically, the tour guides are super knowledgeable, maybe even telling you ghost stories or tales about voodoo; spooky but super cool, in a way. It almost always a killer way to start any visit.

That said, I always tell people, so, don’t just snap some photos and move on! Listen to the stories, like look up at those iron balconies, try to imagine what it was like to live back then, and be there for some history.

Swamp Tour

Swamp Tour

A little ways outside the city, so, there’s this totally different world – the Louisiana swamp. Yet, you go there and it’s filled with mossy trees, super calm water, and yeah, alligators! This boat tour could be just the change of pace you needed, that’s because you can see some nature and maybe, get a little thrill if you’re lucky. Usually you will have a guide who knows pretty much everything about the swamp’s stuff, talking about wildlife, plants, all kinds of local tales, is that amazing?

Here’s my tip, pack some bug spray! You’re sitting kinda still on the water so, like, mosquitos think you’re a buffet, which obviously kinda bites! And that also means remember your camera! You would not want to skip taking photos of gators cruising around or birds chilling on tree branches. These swamp snaps will get people super jealous back home.

Garden District Tour

Garden District Tour

Is that something or what that there is another, rather beautiful part of New Orleans, quite unlike the French Quarter, huh? It’s like a total flip with grand houses, awesome gardens, just oozing Southern charm. You know? You would do the tour here either by walking or by hopping on a bus. It lets you cruise through those pretty neighborhoods while hearing, probably, all the deets about who lived in these fancy spots, who built them, like, any crazy history behind them and stuff like that.

This might be pretty obvious but, if it can be helped, you might consider to put on comfortable shoes, as you’ll walk often to explore, yet slowly so that you get to fully view the stuff here in the tour! Plus, just that you know, the Gardens have benches, yet quite very few, so like don’t over exert on the touring. Bring some water if it can be helped.

Food Tour

New Orleans Food Tour

If that interests you or not, for many, so, food is like the main reason for visiting New Orleans, you know? That means gumbo, jambalaya, beignets… It’s just all kinda ridiculously amazing. As a matter of fact, going on a food tour is like sampling a bit of everything without, well, turning into a beignet yourself! The way it seems, typically these tours pack several spots and tastes into only a few hours, so you’ll probably stroll from one restaurant to the next, maybe trying the local favorites and hearing about the cooks. Pretty fun stuff!

Ok! My tip: come ready to feast! You’re going to eat a lot! So maybe like don’t have a big breakfast or anything. Show up kinda hungry, yet that allows you to taste every dish! And I also will be that person who says to bring napkins, but like, you’re going to want them! So you might thank me later, if you were in need.

New Orleans Cemetery Tour

Quite famously so, that, New Orleans has these cemeteries, right? They’re a bit unusual too, arguably; because, the graves are actually all above ground. Almost always these cities of the dead, they tell you tons regarding the history of New Orleans. Like, on a tour, typically they walk around, looking at some, talking about the old families, local heroes and some interesting facts from the past. Just that you know, spooky!

Is that alright to give you a heads up on being kinda respectful? Very many folks actually pass by, and that also means the cemetery is considered a landmark. If it can be helped don’t trash it and cause commotion when on tour, huh? I want you to take only photos and memories!
