Peneda-Gerês National Park Hiking

Arguably, If you actually have a thing for strapping on your hiking boots and hitting the trails, then you will adore Peneda-Gerês National Park. You know, it’s Portugal’s only national park, as a matter of fact, that alone kind of makes it special, right? But, it’s the amazing landscape that really makes it what it is. I mean think granite peaks, lush woodlands, plus waterfalls so pristine you might want to bottle them up.

Arguably, There are trails that seemingly fit anyone’s fancy, from a gentle amble around a lake, to those tough climbs that sort of make your leg muscles scream. I’ve had the good fortune of going myself, plus what stood out, too, was the way the park blends raw nature with little towns. It’s like you can be tackling a steep slope, plus then suddenly, BAM, there is an old village with stone houses just sitting there waiting to be explored.
