1. Restaurant de Plantage: A Garden Oasis of Flavors
Restaurant de Plantage, wow, is that located right next to the Artis Zoo and offers a dining atmosphere that almost feels like you are actually eating right in a botanical garden. So, with all its open, airy design and that close view of nature, its very easy to lose yourself in the setting alone. It’s almost like you left Amsterdam for a bit. Anyway, let’s talk eats. You will see that their menu really champions modern European dishes with a very strong focus on fresh, local ingredients. It’s almost showcasing Dutch tastes with some contemporary flair. So whether it’s a light lunch or a satisfying dinner you want, this destination definitely does deliver on food, drinks, or maybe a little of both. 2. Bar Botanique: A Taste of Green
Bar Botanique, right in the eastern part of Amsterdam, is basically like if a jungle and your favorite cool cafe had a baby. Its space has loads of plants. It makes you really think you’re not even close to the busy city. And you get all these tastes and smells when you arrive, too! Very amazing, for sure. So this place has some snacks, some good eats, and drinks that are strong, and it keeps that cool botanical feel going, so to pair everything green. The food has grub from different places, but most are influenced by the Mediterranean and South American food scenes. I, myself, have to be in a plant-eating space now, so I’m excited! It’s very interesting, and good for lunch, brunch or an evening meetup. I actually heard that it turns into a super vibey, fun, and kinda hopping social hotspot! How crazy? Anyhow, get some cool vibes and healthy dishes with cocktails if you go. Our full review: Bar Botanique Full Review and Details See Prices, Availability & Reserve Now (Book a table now!)
3. De Biertuin: The Best Spot for the Dutch Beer Experience
For a real taste of Amsterdam’s laid-back vibe, too, swing over to De Biertuin. This popular hangout is almost famous among locals, and is a favorite for those visiting from out of town, as it makes such a chill and great place. That said, there are lots of reasons people like going here. Namely because of the HUGE amount of Dutch and other imported beers, that are craft, too. Very hoppy and delicious! Anyway, it makes an almost-perfect partner for a selection of very meaty bites! De Biertuin almost showcases classic bar foods but always cooked really good! This destination often attracts pretty fun and lively groups! You might meet new people here, it really seems to be very popular to just kinda show up with whoever and maybe see where the night goes, which I feel can be kinda cute. A staple and an must if you visit, yet. Check out the full review here: De Biertuin Full Review and Details Check availability here (Check out for more!)
4. Louie Louie: Latin American Flavors
You will find Louie Louie kinda tucked in near the Oosterpark, but let me tell you: it’s a true explosion of Latin American delicious tastes in the center of Amsterdam’s East part. Well, if I was blindfolded, and I tasted their empanadas, my taste buds would know. Anyway, it’s pretty cute. Louie Louie almost gives visitors South American-style snacks. It is kinda a fusion. Think street foods and amazing and spicy stews and dishes! As a matter of fact, many who find them just love this, because Amsterdam is so global and so interesting in food trends. Anyhow, it is known to create an incredibly cool vibe, which attracts younger groups and party-people. This, to me, is something you should absolutely try if you wanna spice up your date! Hehe. 5. Cafe Restaurant Plantage Doklaan
Last, but def not least, we gotta give Cafe Restaurant Plantage Doklaan some attention! Situated in that big, open area of the Plantage neighborhood, it feels so calming and inviting the minute you look. Almost as if someone is inviting you inside their very pretty home. The feel they went for almost makes anyone feel as welcome as possible, like those grand cafés they used to do in Amsterdam back in the old days. People really like to come, have breakfast, lunch, or some of that dinner stuff they offer on certain days. As a matter of fact, you can do meetings here too. That makes a great way to switch out a bad cubicle day and go into an open atmosphere to vibe with the boys. Anyhow, get your break on by visiting them, as I’ve been hearing.
