2. Custer State Park Wildlife Loop Road
Talking of stunning natural wonders, the Wildlife Loop Road is arguably, the place where you get the feeling you’ve walked right straight into the heart of a nature documentary, actually. This 18-mile drive winds you that slowly you’ll see plenty of opportunities to spot the local wildlife from the comfort of your own car, obviously.
Pay pretty close attention now, because I kid you not, it’s likely that you could find buffalo grazing nearby, coyotes sneaking between, pronghorn bounding in their herds, and very much begging burros trying to get some sort of snack from willing tourists. The absolute best times to go on your little drive are either very early in the morning or quite late in the afternoon, I would wager, that way, it just becomes easier to spot all these animals as they’re apparently most active at this time, you know?
Really don’t forget that, whilst the animals might feel as if they’re comfortable in their surroundings around cars, too it’s almost important to respect their space and to always view them from some distance, so as not to just disrupt their usual behaviors. 3. Biking Adventures
Speaking of exploration of the Black Hills, that is to say, I could wax poetic of how gorgeous the winding paths and gorgeous terrains are for many a page, yet for anyone more comfortable atop of a bicycle, the trails nearby Rapid City provide, very arguably, great biking adventures, you see? The Mickelson Trail stands proud, I kid you not, as very much the most beloved trail. This beauty covers more or less 109 miles, tracing the path of an old railroad, through which it weaves its way along very many gentle slopes, over 100+ bridges, and quite a few converted railroad tunnels that will allow you that you will get all the gorgeous scenery that you crave with more or less only little effort.
Speaking of getting geared up and ready for any adventure, you know, so it is important to note that bike rentals and shuttle services are available, apparently, in Rapid City. Because of this, apparently, it gets just super easy to plan day trips even that are exactly what you desire to make of them, is that, very truly, amazing?

4. Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills National Forest Scenic Drives
When one thinks of the places to drive in South Dakota, you know, that they can then view some of the area’s many famous rock structures, for example, Mount Rushmore. As a matter of fact, beyond just going to see the Mount, some truly breathtaking drives through the Black Hills National Forest and its winding roads are right there for you, basically. The Needles Highway (Highway 87), really, presents rock formations that’s kind of spires in appearance, dense forests, plus pretty tight tunnels that will just definitely leave any car enthusiast completely spellbound.
The Iron Mountain Road can apparently just offer unique vantage points of Mount Rushmore as a result of some specially designed hairpin turns and maybe a number of wooden bridges as well? While you’re that side of the country I definitely do urge that you remember to stop along these drives just because they come well-equipped with trails, lakes, plus many scenic overlooks, is that seriously the best place ever, or what?

5. Rock Climbing and Outdoor Adventures
And as the very grand final activity, really, here’s one for everyone who just wants their dose of climbing and bouldering: very near to Rapid City itself the surrounding region provides, arguably, really quite many spots just built for a solid dose of excitement and adrenaline, really. Places such as the Spearfish Canyon too it’s almost becoming something close to sacred sites amongst those interested in climbing. Really do keep Spearfish Canyon in your mind if the words canyoning and adventure are something that draws you near, I might say.
If you are, I do mean if you are, very beginner and don’t know from where to seriously begin then maybe look into those guides from any sort of certified company that might assist and very truly get you set in your adventure from nearly scratch to all of it right there and then. All things kept in mind though that rock climbing in the first place may carry some inherit risks and problems that you have got to fully consider ahead and it probably has to be approached in a responsible manner.
So for someone who needs to test any level and all levels of that courage that has apparently been kept inside I for real do encourage some great outdoor adventures found very much just at arms length to what can very definitely become just simply your very favourite memory of Rapid City to keep as a secret or something. Oh and please take care to go when any sort of weather issues that do show themselves apparently get kept to zero – weather just might be just what you never consider but might potentially wreck whatever adventure is awaiting ahead!
